Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Good to see you enjoying the Phoenix, which is certainly one of the best pubs in York. But that's the problem with York; it's chock full of 'best pubs'.

Lancashire ale for me.

Thanks my friend, I always enjoy visiting, and I know what you mean! :D What a feast!

That's a problem?

With an hour's bus-ride home, I certainly have to pace myself these days! ;) :D

Buzzbait Buzzbait , Racer 5 is one of my favorite IPAs. Finding one in the back of the fridge would certainly be a nice surprise.

May I ask the model number of that Camillus? It's gorgeous.

I must be the only person on the porch to hydrate anymore. I'm having one of those "nothing can go wrong, and lucky" kind of days. I found a Racer5 in the back of the fridge. Pictured here with my trusty old Camillus.

I believe that it's a Camillus "Life Raft Knife", made for BuAer during WW2, circa........ probably around 1943. It's almost identical to the Camilus Engineers Knife made in huge quantities during WW2. They're actually a very common knife. At any one time, you can find 5 or 10 on auction. Some are used up. Some are relatively untouched by time. Many have been disassembled and combined with surviving parts. The quality is remarkably good for a knife that was produced on a scale that has rarely been seen in history. Camillus produced something like 5 million of these knives for the war effort.

^ That is cool Greg

I'm not a huge fan of gin, but did rather like this one when I tried it recently :) I was probably carrying a Lambsfoot ;) :D

That is a hazy beer. I'm more jealous of the beers posted in this thread than most of the knives posted on all of the porch!

Put an edge on this US-made Schrade 12OT this morning and took it out for a bike ride (and beer) in the woods in the afternoon.
