BG-42 G10/rd/blk Micarta 110 still available!

I see one on fleabay that is up to 135 bucks plus postage and the high bidder could have called buck for one and saved 20 bucks.

I got my knife today and it is just gorgeous! Thanks for turning me on to this.... I was in the Buck shop in Sept. It's too bad they didn't mention it to me then knowing I was a Buck 110 fan.

i love my two G10 's !
they did not do much for me when i seen them in july...
now ... i am glad i got them.. they come down 10 $ from then
strange how only 10$ less in price can make the diff as to if you buy a good knife or not..

:(

Tonight we are going out to dinner (El Gaucho's) so last night I thought I'd get the G-10 out and fondle it since I will wear it tonight. I opened it up, completely, something I'd not done yet and couldn't get it to close! It was locked solid. I got a couple of old wash cloths and wrapped one around the blade and one on the handle and worked at it and it finally closed. I tried it several times and it is almost impossible to get it to close. I'm going to have to send it back to them. Luckily I saved the box. I might as well have them send me a spare, if the are still available.

BJ,

If you have a compressor open it up half way and try blowing it out real good.

Call Pete and tell him about in any case.

BigJohn, While your doing that use compressed oil like WD40 it may help clean out what ever is in the pivot area. DM

I had the same problem when mine came from the shop. There was quite a bit of dust from the G-10 compacted inside, and a ragged chunk of micarta was sticking out of the rivet hole and coming in contact with the blade when closed. I cleaned it out with some toothpicks, cut off the chunk of micarta, and oiled the pivot. Now the knife opens and closes quite well. I don't know if you have the same issue or not, but it was a quick and easy fix for me and saved a trip back to the shop.

I've given mine some good doses of Rem Oil and exercising the blade without closing it. I've sprayed the indent area and it is getting easier to close, although I have to have a cloth wrapped around the blade as it's not quite there and don't want to get cut. It's a labour of love.

Both. Black Cherry Micarta liner with black G-10 scale. The micarta is hard to see however its there.

I was in Post Falls this morning and bought a few knives - I bought a G-10, BG 42, 110 out of the knife display case and the young lady behind the counter told me it was the last one. There you go....

I remember I ask for "modern" version on Buck 110 while ago - July 2004. Even made this picture out of 880 with 110 shape:

Now Buck made it! And with both G1 and Micarta - so all those new stuff is here ;)

Thanks, Vassili.

These poor photos don't do the knife justice.

In the hand, turning and flashing in natural light, feeling the weight, the smoothness, the potential cutting ability and the praiseworthy craftsmanship I feel...excited. It goes back into the display case until I calm down some.

That is a butey and gets me all SOB, as well.

That is perplexing.... maybe they are off to the auction house - I dunno? I'm sure more can be made if there is a demand.

I do love that knife and wish I could get one in finger groove.
