Anyone see the announcement for this? Looks very cool, but $300 price makes me pause a bit. Thoughts?

Well for those of us who don't have any, this might be our only chance, but I'm not liking the price. Not interested. I already have all of the Lum tantos that I want.

Who has replaced the unwisefool?Well for those of us who don't have any, this might be our only chance, but I'm not liking the price.
Really? Really? You don't understand why most people are reluctant to pay nearly $300 for a freaking Spyderco? It's a made in Japan, G10 scaled, liner lock (ohh, it's M390, big whoop). Nothing really special here, except forced "exclusivity". And your second paragraph only highlights the fact that prices have gotten out of control from many manufacturers.I find it hard to understand why people are complaining about the price of this knife.
$289.95 is the price I've seen and that doesn't seem like all that much compared to the current pricing of comparable knives made by Spyderco & others.
...que?Who has replaced the unwisefool?

Unfortunately, I'm sure it will sell out in seconds, and there will be guys here listing them on the exchange for $600 before they even get them in hand.
No dlc out of Japan, so this is pvd. PVD comes off easyI really want one. The Lum Tanto is one of my favorite Spyderco designs. For some stupid reason I sold my vg10 gray sprint years ago and always regretted it. The only thing holding me back is the DLC. I’m hoping BladeHQ releases a satin version, but I also don’t want to delay and miss the run if they don’t.
The current market is sadly nothing more than a race to the top. All the major manufacturers will keep hiking prices until they find the ceiling of what buyers will spend (and no, it's not inflation, this has been happening for many years now). Almost $300 is ABSOLUTELY unreasonable for a basic pocket knife. If more customer feedback was "I'm not buying your products because they have gotten way too expensive", the companies might get the picture, but it seems like there's always enough people with more money than sense to make all these "limited releases" sell out instantly. You can complain about the current pricing all you like but it is what it is.
$290 for a Lum Tanto exclusive made w/M390 is NOT unreasonable in the current market. You don't want to pay it, fine. There are a lot of other people who will. The market has changed and is NOT likely to change back anytime soon.
There are still a lot of great knives in the $100-200 range but you won't find a Spyderco Lum Tanto (old or new) for that price anymore.
C'mon, who are you really? The unwisefool we all know would be by his computer credit card in hand for this....que?
Lol I think you have me confused with someone else. I'm cheap.C'mon, who are you really? The unwisefool we all know would be by his computer credit card in hand for this.
Look for the HAP40 one. It was just under a 1/3 less MSRP.I've always wanted a Lum Tanto, but I think I'm going to pass on this. Just not a good value for the money. I've got other things to blow $310 on.
