BHQ Para2 black CPM-M4, jade scales

Indoor shot. Not the best.
But you get the idea.
52100-M4 blade swap.
I didn't feel like dealing with trying to separa the lanyard tube.

Cool swap, the jade looks really light the photos I am seeing, just the photos or are these lighter?

I love the PM2 platform.
I love M4 blade steel, especially Spyderco's take on it.
I love the natural jade G10

... can't do the black DLC. Every time I look at it the first thing that comes to mind is, 'mint chocolate chip ice cream'. Not knocking the knife, and the coating is probably a win for any sort of humid/damp climate. Spyderco does their coatings really well, too. No reason this knife shouldn't be another stellar release in already what is arguably one of the best folders in history. Just can't get over the color combination.
Lol. I like mint chocolate chip! I generally hate coated blades, but I got the OD PM2 with the DLC as a possible swap out. Surprised I like dlc with the OD green and looking at my naked m4 I think I will like the dlc better and bonus a lot less rusting.

I was able to do the lanyard tube swap but let me tell you it was NOT EASY.. Over the coarse of 40 ish minutes on just the lanyard tube, The g10 tore a good amount of surface skin off my thumb and the carbon fiber likes to get a little chippy on the inside (but the lanyard covers it once forced in). It honestly felt like i was going to break the g10, and especially the carbon fiber felt like it would snap any second when prying off. Once i got them off i thought the hard part was over.. I WAS WRONG! When putting the scales back on the lanyard, what i thought would be a simple job of pressing them together and finally hearing a satisfying "SNAP", Turned out to be another 30 minutes of prying, wedging, twisting and yes i even stepped on the sumbich to jam that sucker closed. i don't recommend swapping the lanyard unless you really know what you're doing. i think i got lucky and it turned out fine but i wouldn't risk it unless you have multiples and don't care if you might accidentally break it and defiantly void your warranty. Just my 2cents

Picked up my 3 from the post office today. All 3 were a little tight, but a slight turn of the tort pivot has them all free dropping. Perfect PM2 examples! Spyderco did a great job with these.

I also did a blade swap for my user. Excited to start using this and not really have to worry about rust.

Well looks like a couple just hit the Exchange with just a slight markup

I would be surprised if they can be sold with the SLIGHT markup prices, given that there was plenty amount of time for folks to buy it from bhq.

On a side note, got mine this morning. Everything is good except that it is a bit tight, nothing close to the out of box smoothness of DLT red m390 PM2, but I assume it will break in over time.

Awesome! I hate to be the bearer of bad news though, but DLC doesn't really protect against rusting at all. DLC is solely for light discipline. Your blade can grow rust through the coating no problem.

The good thing is that you can generally wipe the rust off and not see the patina underneath, but if you let it get bad enough you'll be able to tell there was rust there at one point.

DLC does however do an excellent job of holding onto oil that you put on the blade, which greatly helps stop rust from forming.

Yes it most likely will develop better action or you can do minor adjustments to your liking.

Got my 2 today, which brings the total PM2 collection to 18. They both have a small amount of pivot friction and zero lateral play, so by my standards, they are functionally perfect. I love the color/material combo, and F/F is on par with the red M390's. I don't get the free-dropping thing, although a few of mine are adjusted that way. A little friction works much better for me.

These knives absolutely rock. They blow the Sebenza off the planet as an EDC. Sal, you are really burning it down with the PM2's - GREAT JOB!

I've seen several people make this assertion that DLC does not provide any rust resistance, but have never seen much evidence to back it up.

There are, however, many posts about members stating they have DLC blades that don't rust under conditions that do rust uncoated blades.

If it provides any rust resistance I'll be happy. My uncoated M4 PM2 got some small rust spots after one day in my pocket (easily buffed out, but still).

Received about an hour ago ahead of the Monday scheduled delivery

The CL clip was a PITA and not sold on his shorter screws as not too confidence inspiring as the OEM bit it’s a looker, so swapped already and in pocket she goes :)

Came DEADLY SHARP but a hair off center favoring the show side. while being a bit rigid / stiff in Spydie flicking + free dropping actions. So much for my added note to check for F&F :D

Some 1/8th loosening of the pivot screw plus the stop pin the same, made it as smooth as can be, free dropping and lightening Spydie flicking. All in all, a good choice but after carrying my Millies,
this feels almost too light. I used to own the older KW CF/M4 which “seems” a bit heftier! All in all, I’m happy but I’m overwhelmingly still a Millie diehard.

I hate to be the bearer of bad new to you, but your assertion of DLC not providing corrosion resistance is not accurate at all. Search these forums as well as Spyderco's forum and you will find numerous reports that contradict your statement. Furthermore, read the EdgeUCation that came with these DLC PM2s; there is a quote that states, "DLC coating to help protect the non-stainless tool steel from corrosion".

On a different note, my two arrived today and the F&F is among the best of any production folder that I've seen to date.

Just received. Is my first PM2. First impressions from someone who collects crk, Hinderer, shiro,....midtechs and customs...

This one is stiff. No flicking. No free dropping, perfectly centered, no lock stick. Not overly impressed

Want to like it but if there is no fidget factor with it being stiff, she will be on a USPS truck to a new owner.

What do the experts say? Will it improve as it breaks in to the point it can be flicked or do I need to break it down and lube or adjust the pivot?

Well, now i get it! can’t put it down. Just needed some nano oil 10wt on the detent ball and a drop in the pivot and working in and now it drops freely and flicks with ease. It’s going into the rotation for sure! Very pleased

Oh they most def happened ;)

2 x KW S90V CF/Ti, one the first day when came out and the second at the current sub 200 price. Best folding knife "value" currently available for a sub 200 larger folder  if that's the sorta size that works for one's EDC purposes.

Mine's a free dropper out of the box, with just a touch more friction than my other PM2s. Which makes it easier to release the compression lock just when the blade closes to catch the detent.
