Big brother is watching me...

trovao,

"high horse"

Another cliche'

Is that all you have? Look, I could take a trazadone, get a bit sleepy, that might make it fair.

In a battle of wits, it appears you are unarmed.

Let's hope my debating buddies don't find out what kind of a slug you are. Benjamin might dress you down in Yiddish.:D

This thread really went to hell.

Seems to me trovao only meant to say that buying a complaining about rights while buying a hunting knife, and having the sig line against hunting.....is like a skeet shooter saying AR15's should be illegal. You only care about rights when they're ones you want to keep, and not about rights of others.
It was a pretty big stretch though since a "hunter" is a very common type of knife that can be used for a lot more than hunting, and that could be what they meant.
Anyway you look at it this thread took a pathetic turn, and is WAY off topic.

Matt,

I think it's great you stand up for the guys here. And truthfully, I'm sorry to tick off long standing members like yourself.

I'm not so understanding when some fledgling with less than a dozen post counts starts flapping his gums. Maybe his mom lets him mouth off on those Star Wars forums, but I have a short fuse when he tracks mud on our carpeting.

Worse yet, he's lame. A brain stem floating in a beaker has a better command of the langage. He's a poor debater, and I promise to go easy on the lad.

Same kinda stuff going on here in the States. Big Brother is ALWAYS watching! Makes me fuc**** afraid of the whole global economy business, WTO, etc., etc.. Well hell, let's start right in with the conspiracy theories....JFK and all that happy horsepucky. Anyway, cover your six. :)

Tourist, funs over. Time to play nice. Your and no one else's multitudes of posts put you above anyone. And the sig thing, come on..who really cares about sigs? This isn't a soap opera, look at my sig, its stupid, does that make me an idiot?

Matt Shade and Stompy...Salute! Your points are well taken and I agree I have gone way off topic and helped trash this thread. My apologies.

I always wondered why post count is THAT important to some people? Anyway, there is the IGNORE button if he bothers you too much....

To stay on topic: I do not see anything wrong about police taping/monitoring public places. If you do not do anything illegal - why should you worry... You are already on many files anyway ;).

David1967 you have an impressive knife collection. I would be interested to know what the whole knife/privacy situation is like in your country.

OK to all the off topic people: earlier I stated I'd be happy to reply if you started a thread about pro/con opinions about hunting. I've mentioned this earlier in this thread. But please stick to the topic here. I wanted some opinions on what people thought about this kind of behaviour by the police. As I stated I was wondering if they hadn't anything better to do.

Trovoa I don't think I can be considered a Troll as I've never insulted anyone personally or otherwise unlike some in this thread. I try to discuss here on this forum with like minded people in an adult way. Thank you.

edited to add: I bought a hunting knife mainly 'cause it was a knife with what I found had a nice feel to it, good materials and really usefull size and shape. I named it a "hunter" 'cause that's what the common name for such a kind of knife is. From now on I'll refer to it as: "The-knife-I-really-liked-and-just-wanted-for-my-collection-although-I-disapprove-of-it's-intended-use" if that makes certain people feel better.

Maybe you have been profiled because of your appearance? A young man with a combat boots and a shaved head buying knives that can't be carried legally without a specific purpose (if I have understood you correctly) might be something to be concerned about. Please, I am NOT saying that you are a criminal in anyway because of the way you look. Are there "skinheads" in that area? Maybe there is a good reason for filming these events.

You are in a touchy situation no doubt, you'll have to be careful to not jeopardize your mothers job. Perhaps you could speak to an attorney for some real advice. Everything we say here is just opinion. I don't think any of us are experts at law in Belgium.

Otherwise, don't sweat it too much and continue to prove what an upstanding, law abiding citizen you are.

Hahaha! LMAO!

The post I posted earlier was being sarcastic it should have been read the other way around. Hunting knives are free in Belgium except when it's really clear the only intended use is as a weapon. Not true for any other knife here in Belgium, unless you can convince a LEO you have a good reason. I pulled it off once by telling them as I work in IT I open a lot of boxes wrappings... etc and I got tired of buying new box-cutters. But you can OWN just about any knife. That being my point you can't make a problem about it sitting in your house.

Now 'bout the hair me and my buddy are both avid practitioners of martial arts one of them is Jiu-jitsu to us hair is just another thing a sparring partner/opponent in competition can grab onto. Hence the shaven look. And hey Belgian army boots make excellent footwear :)

WillyD:

No matter the reason for the shaved head look, you are goingto be looked at by law enforcement as potential "skinheads" or in that realm of white supremacy.

Hence the potential for special interest in yourself and friends.

You do not need to shave the head to keep one from grabbing it in a fight to control you.

Just look to the US Marines, they keep the high and tight for the same reason in combat, but they would never be mistaken for a skinhead.

I still wear the high and tight myself after 30+ years. You can't grab me around by mine and I don't "look" like I might be a racist/cultist/neonazi at the same time.

Brownie

Brownie well I just find it easier to do myself just put on a bit a soap and then a quick shave with the razor. And I'm also gettin' a bit thin in the hair department too :)

You will not find the word "knife" in our law. There is no law about knives in Czech Republic - knife is tool. You can carry anything and you will not have any problems if you behave. Places where you should not carry knives are: private night clubs, airports, sport events and other mass meetings and that´s about it.
