Big hands in search of big folder. Opinions appreciated.

Zero tolerance and benchmade(mostly) are made in the usa.
I have pretty large hands. I have a Kershaw NRG 2 which is usa made and it has alot of handle for a folder. I EDC it though and its very nice. I actually have a bit of handle right at the edge of my palm or sticking out a bit in an ice pick grip.

Honestly, if you were going to buy a JYD II in composite, I'd say go for it. It makes a great edc knife.

I have big hands also and hate small knives. My favorite folder is my ZT 0200. The Kershaw Tremor fits me also and is quite a bargain. Ontario RAT-1 is good too.

Thanks for all the posts. I like the ZT knives. Not a first choice due to price. I would be pissed if I broke the tip or marked it up for that price.
I like some of the Kershaws. Still eying the JYD2.
How are the Kershaw Clash and Skyline.

Trouble is I don;t know any good places around me to physically hold a knife first. Went to the local Walmart and its like trying to hold a gold bar there.

I think the kabar mule would serve you well. It has a 4 inch blade, is tough and well made, and sells for under $50. The clash is a good entry level knife, but i think the skyline might be a little smaller than you are looking for...

No question - the Kershaw 1725CB, aka JYDII CB, is a great knife. I have carpal tunnel problems, making my medium+ hands hurt with 'small' grips - the G10 scales on the JYDII CB are nearly perfect. The base blade metal is Finnish 14C28N welded with a copper accent to US-made CPM-D2 - afine grain/hard use tool steel. It isn't stainless - maybe a problem to some - but it won't grow 'patina' like a high carbon blade. Great package - healthy liner lock that can be flipper deployed. The best news is the price - <$100. The bad news is the availability - they aren't in abundance right now - but worth the look.

I love my ZT 0301 & 0551 - and Benchmades - but these things start near or over $200. The JYDII CB is a tough act to follow and in his price range. Another variation is the Ti & SG-2 JYDII - available for a whie as a ' blemished' model shipped for <$100 - that is even nicer!

Just got into collecting knives again, and I have to lend a lot of credit to the crkt "M" series, the 16's being the smaller ones and 21's being the larger of the two. There's a wide variety of blade styles, flipper styles, coloring, and edge finishes. As well there are two steels to choose from. They are really well balanced for being a folder, and also quite affordable. Next knife i would suggest is the full sized cold steel ak-47. Heavy duty construction, quality steel, triad lock and ergonomic handle, little pricier though. Also has a quick deploy pocket stud as well.

Enlan EL01 (10$ excl. shipping)
Enlan EL02 or EL02B (12$ excl. shipping)

Handle length is about 5" or almost 5". Ergonomics: EL01 is better. Blade also thicker (flat ground) vs EL02 (hollow ground). However, EL02 is more sheepie friendly.
Steel is decent 8Cr13M0V, hardness around 58RC, so the edge lasts quite a while.

Also if you're into more sheepie friendly, any of OHT series from Victorinox, or Wenger Ranger series.

All above are in lower end price range, you won't hesitate to use them.

What about a full-size Benchmade Griptilian? About $60-70. It has the AXIS lock which is great and fun to use as well as being one of the strongest knife locks available. It comes in a few configurations and is what I would go with if you don't like Spyderco.

Sog trident. Won't break the bank either. Solid knife.

First post for me just joined a few minutes ago. Great resource you have here!

A lot of good suggestions. I have been checking them out on youtube looking for reviews. Surprised how useful that site is.

I like the Kershaw JYD2 still. But i might go ahead and by a couple.

Keep them coming though. I enjoy checking them all out. Thanks
