Big hands in search of big folder. Opinions appreciated.

Well my right hand measures 4" across the knuckles and the onslaught has handle to spare... not sure how big, big is or if the wicked curve would prove useful to you.

Another suggestion I have experience with is the benchmade tsek in m390. I believe knifeworks is out but you might find a couple floating around, and its counter part the afck which has a near identical handle and is yet to be sold out I do believe...

But it also has the hole which I'm not sure if you're a fan of considering your preferences against spyderco. But it too is in m390 which is a phenomenal steel. Seems to take a better edge, easier than d2 and hold it longer. Nice thing about benchmade's spydie holes is they don't protrude above the blade profile in an awkward and unsightly manner. Before anyone says anything, I understand its purpose, It's just not for me and the reason I pass on spyderco...

Though their police3 appeals to me greatly and might be worth checking out. I'm not a spyder fan either but I've been wanting one for a while now, and I've heard nothing but good things about their products and their vg10

I EDC a Kershaw Clash because it's cheap (don't mind tearing it up), fast, cuts really well, has good edge retention, and I like the blade design. It's Chinese made, though. And it's a bit small. The Junkyard Dog II is a good size knife, but the blade is a bit thin for my tastes (I own an SG2 model) and I am not partial to the sheepsfoot style (prefer more of a point). But the handle size is excellent. Kershaw has a lot of good choices of affordable but very good quality USA made knives which would suit your purposes. Just pay attention to the handle dimensions and pick the ones you like the looks of (goes for any brand).

I'd recommend the Kershaw Blur. I love mine. Closed length is 4.5"; handle is ergonomic and very grippy (Trac-Tec inserts).

Ken Onion design, assisted opening that's as fast as switchblade, 3 3/8" blade with a DEEP belly, locks up tight, zero blade play.

A big but elegant knife that can take a beating, and as well as EDC would work for tactical use in a pinch. (It will scare the sheeple.)

Price point around $50, which is a bargain. Made in the US of A.

My favorite knife currently. (The Skyline is sweet too, but slimmer and narrower and not one you'd want to beat on; plus it's manual opening, although fast for a manual. The Blur opens in a, well, blur.)

I'd recommend the Kershaw Blur.

I have one. Great knife, but if Blackbilly's hands are as big as he says they are, the Blur may not quite fit the bill. The Zero Tolerance 0200 and 0300 are monsters though. 5.25" closed. Those should be big enough in the hand for anyone :D
But if the price of the ZTs is too high, the JYD is definitely a great, big knife too.

I love my JYD II, and i think it would be a great choice. however, the clip is HUGE. and it is only tip down carry. other than that, it is an amazing knife.

I love my 0200, and i think that breaking it would only be possible if you tried to do things with it that knives were not meant to do. believe me, i have chopped down small trees with this thing, and it is solid. besides, if you break it, you can send it to ZT headquarters in oregon and, if it is not bad, they will regrind your tip. if it is bad, depending on the day, you either get a new blade or a new knife. how can you go wrong?

I'm sure that there are several that would make you happy but I have large hands as well and I absolutely love my Ontario Hossom Retribution 1. Mr. Hossom does an incredible job designing knives with handles that feel like they were custom made/fit for you. His custom knives are beautiful and he uses a very similar style handle for the Ontario Hossom Retribution folders.

A lot of good choices. Thing that sucks for me is the lack of knife shops in my area. So I can't really go out and grab a hold of one.

Not saying I have a huge hand, but larger. Compared with a buck 110 my hand makes the handle disappear.

+1 on that, the Lionsteel SR1 is wide and really fills the hand. It's strong and with a roll of the lock stabilzer it basically turns into a fixed blade, unable to unlock.

It fits very nicely with gloves, and is very easy to manipulate.

The sleipiner steel holds an edge way better than s30v.

I'm with you, I dont like the look of 99% of Spyderco's never understood why they are so popular but whatever. Don't know if it's big enough but I would assume it prob is, Check out the Benchmade Barrage full-size its a awesome knife I carry every day. Good steel, good name, good size and around 110-120 bucks for the 154cm version. I dont see how any folding knife can cost 300+ dollars honestly, and thats "mid-range" for some people. Unless its made of gold it would seem as though someone is making a huge profit margin.

If you were to measure your palm sideways it would really make your selection a lot easier. The Buck 110 is almost 5" long closed but there are plenty of knives that are close to 6" or more.

5 3/4'' scross

I impulsed today and bought the JYD2 comp. for 68 shipped. When I get it I will check it out and figure if I want to EDC it then.

I forgot I had 2 Buck 110s. One older and one newer. Not sure witch one i wanna carry for now. I gotta give them both a good cleaning first. Plus the newer one is very stiff folding.

Ok man if you measured correctly than that is a rather large hand, Still I think something like the benchmade bedlam or other large 6" handle would be good.
