big spyderco folder - any interest?

I like big folders and love Spyderco's but I too am one who buys an uncoated blade whenever possible.

If the blade was uncoated and plain edged I'd certainly consider this knife!

you can count me in for at least 2. I'm a big fan of big folders. I'm also lucky in that I have absolutely no restrictions whatsoever on what I can carry.:D

according to ouer talk at last iwa there will be 50 pcs each year be made featuring the round hole and compression lock. but there will be an unlimited model featuring no round hole but compression lock, with that i can live.

bigger numbers are needed for justify the manufacturing expenses, using waterjet, cnc and buying the material in larger quantity. allone the tooling for the new verry strong clip design cost alot of money, not to mention the complex compression lock, second detent ball lever, the unique bolsters and the massive turned privot/screws.

i agree with spyderco that the market for sutch an folder may be not as big as for small to medium ones but still, theres people like me loving sutch monsters and one thing i learned the hard way here in swiss - if i dont make it myself what i dream of, nobody will.

Nice looking knife. SwissBianco, which steel have you chosen for your blade, and have you decided on an appx. RC?

im working on the details with cpm and latrobe. mainly it will be an stainless with he best heattreating avaliable, second an carbon tool steel with DLC coating and 3. some damascus. im also known for ultralight laminated blades, composite with steel/titanium. i now the ultralight may make less sense by sutch an big user but at least an couple i want make.

the heattreating problem is ok allready.
