I'm not so much disappointed in products or companies as I am with the state of my own collection. Do I wish zt came out with something I liked this year, do I wish bm wasn't discontinuing some classic models while going more plain Jane, and do I wish the prices on some spyderco models hadn't gotten ridiculous? Sure.

A year or two ago I went to a collecting model where I only kept knives I actually used. In doing so some knives clearly started consistently winning a spot in the starting lineup. The cpk field knife beat every other knife close to its size for a belt knife. Same with the Spartan difensa. I sold some fantastic knives because of these two. As for folders, I hadn't carried the military in so long I couldn't remember. The 0452cf just fills that roll better. There were many others too including duplicates.

I'm sure this trend will continue as well. It also greatly curtails buying more knives because I already have a lineup that has run off so many good knives. This is all disappinting for me because I love knives but I can no longer justify only owning for ownings sake. This means less knives for me.:(
 
If you don't act like a dickhead, and were welcomed at W&C, you would find some of the most amazing members of this forum.
The members there are warm, generous, friendly, helpful and very close with each other.
No where else on the forum will you find a better bunch of people, period. You will see acts of selfless kindness every day.
Don't be a dickhead and spew racist shit, you'd be welcome too.
And seeing that Trev has a ton of posts in WC just tells me he is not an asshat and would do whatever he could to help another member out.

Well my biggest disappoint in 2017 was my wife's Cancer coming back in 3 places! So I really have nothing to be disappointed about.
 
That should put ALL disappointments posted here in perspective.
Prayers heading your way my friend. Your wife is going to be getting tons of prayers and well wishes from all of us DB.

BM shuttering the H&K brand. A H&K Patrol which you could get for $100 street price is now a "Casbah" with a MAPP MSRP of $175. Lame.

No it's not the steel is still RWL-34. Besides when did I say normal and M390? The most I compared it to was S30V. Chad Nichols is more of a ma and pa shop who a bit more specialty. Devin T and the other makers are used more but they're still not as large as Damasteel. S30V is just all around better. No application is going to make S30V and RWL-34 test their touchness when your high toughness carbon steels exist. (5160, 1095, 3V)

One man with 20 something thousand subscribers isn't enough to base your company around. You'd fail. Besides Nick contradicts himself so much about his own opinions on what he likes it's not funny.

I was anxious to get my hands on a Para3. I never owned a PM2 so I have no true comparison, but my Para3 is clipped in my pocket right now and I am very much enjoying it. I imagine Eric and Sal are taking notes for the CQI on the Para3.

My disappointment is the Canadian dollar. It is performing badly against the U.S. dollar and on top of that I do not get free shipping from most of the major U.S. dealers that advertise free shipping. (I understand, I don't get free shipping from any Canadian online knife dealers either.)

So take any knife you like and add 25% plus $12.00 plus you might get nailed with import duty and broker fees plus add on to that a maybe 10 day wait for delivery.

Also very few the folks selling knives in the exchange are willing to take on the hassle of shipping to Canada. I have seen a lot of beautiful knives slip away due to the border and shipping. Again I understand why and it is the border, not the forum members.

Now for those of you experiencing real grief and family issues I hope everything turns out as well. God Speed!
