Biggest disappointment!

APf. I tired there CSD they wouldnt repair it because it was a auto. Army police only Don't matter they stop making rite after that . They are in Walmart where they belong :). Jake

Don't know where you live but in the USA its NOT considered an auto by any means. Their CS is very good and many times they will go out of their way to make things right; especially with the torsion springs. Im not buying your story...sorry.

I felt the same about my Emerson CQC 7
I also have a CQC 15 and never use it because I hate the chisel grind and it doesn't remind me of a $200 knife whatsoever.

I hadn't ever owned a spyderco and bought a resilience and really didn't like it. The blade seems too big, edges of the handle are sharp, lock bar came at 90% and after just very light duty cutting the edge has rolled in several places. I gave spyderco a 2nd chance with a ladybug and delica 4, and LOVE both my spyderco FRN handle knives.

ESEE 4, handle is super uncomfortable.

I bought a Gerber paraframe and returned it the same day, horrible knife. I liked Gerber when I was a kid, no longer.

I heard lots of good things about the Cold Steel mini tuff lite, I bought one and can't stand it. It was an orange one, but really looks more like a pastel Easter type cream-sickle orange. The tip down only carry bugs me, the knife has lots of really sharp edges and I guess I learned that I am not a fan of warnecliff style blades, I like a belly and a tip.

Those are my most recent disappointments, but I have to admit, I still like getting a new knife, even if it doesn't totally live up to my expectations.

Brother in law ordered a Zero Tolerance in black wash and it had a hairline crack in it that you could see clearly! He called them, but they said that they wouldn't do anything about it and didnt care if he didnt like it! Not sure exactly which model, but wont be buying anymore from them!

I'm going to go ahead and call BS on that. Kershaw's CS wouldn't have told the guy to pound sand, come on now.

Anything from Emerson. Owned 2 different CQC-10s, and a 2 different 7's. All of them had fit and finish like a 12 year old kid built it with not much experience. It's pretty bad when a $15 knife made in China has better F&F.

hinderer xm18,
could not become friends with this one, first needed to regrind it before with would actually have a for me working cutting edge,
and it would not open smoothly when adjusted so there is no blade play, pivot play smooth, no play way to hard to open..
converted it to ball bearings.. now it opens smooth with out play... but still i'm not using it.. just not my friend

Did you ever try to send a auto in ? You don't what you are talking about Jake.

Its a breakout 700O, not A blackout. Sorry about the mistake. They were a toy not a good auto and believe me I have handled a bunch of them. Jake

For me it had to be the Spyderco Jens Anso Zulu.

All the wind out of my sails!! Like a kid that didn't get the Red Rider for Christmas!!

I also call BS on this one. What do you get out of being so dramatic, seriously? I could say more, but we'll leave it at that.

I am with the OP with the Bear Grylls knife. I didn't buy it for his name, I bought cuz Gerbers were great knives. That and it was supposed to be a smaller version of the LMF, supposedly. It is the most disappointing knife I own, followed closely by the CRKT M16-4DSFG. Good thing they were both cheap!

Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight translucent blue. The knife felt cheap, partly because it was SO lightweight, and the handles felt super plasticky. The compression lock isn't as easy to use as BM's Axis or even Spyderco's Compression lock. I usually enjoy Spyderco's forward 50/50 choils, but on the Manix 2 LW, it felt like a waste of cutting edge.

As a side note, I LOVE the Manix 2 G10! And I'm super excited for the new for 2014 FFG version!

The Manix 2's have a caged ball bearing lock. Either versions. Compression lock is on the Para 2 and a couple select others.

Custom Wilkins leafstorm. Great fit and finish, looks good, but it has a huge protruding pivot with a lock screw. Utterly impossible to clip into a pocket. All of my knives are users, so this disappointed me tremendously.
I have two of them and have no trouble in carry.

Military and PM2. Great blades, great F&F but the feeling of flimsiness I have when I hold them is shutting down my enthusiasm. I love all my other Spidies tho.

Ontario RAT 3. It's the only knife I've ever returned. Everything about it just felt and looked cheap and unfinished. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Other than that I've had small nitpicks on some knives but honestly I've never had or seen a knife yet that was 100% perfect to me. A couple have come close.
