Not exactly. It really WAS the BK12. When that collaboration first came into being, Camillus was still in business and it was envisioned as a Camillus produced product and was given the designation BK12. That's what was on the drawings. Phil Gibbs did the design on the BK12 and it went through numerous iterations. We were just at the point of ordering special Ritter/Becker logo stamps when Phil and Camillus "separated" and then Camillus went under. The project was resurrected when KA-BAR's John Stitt graciously agreed I could buy "surplus" old style Becker handles and Shon Rowen agreed to produce the knives for me. I came up with "Perseverance" because that's what it took to over a number of years to get it done.
