BK2+ Design

I'm not too big on extending the blade, make it a weird length, I'd be more for just doing the choil and leaving a nice short blade that is nice and easy for close up work, but still long enough for chopping.

A choil could help with close up work, even if the blade were a little longer. And longer should add a bit more leverage when chopping, but I understand what you're saying.

I'm not a fan of choils either. Never used one, no knives that have em, so I guess I'm just blissfully ignorant.

I would so be all over that knife. Could be close to perfection right there.

I like this design because i find myself putting my pointer finger on the blade when choking up on the knife:eek:.
for this reason i invested in the Ontario Afghan ranger love the knife, and the choil is effective, but nothing can replace my BK-2.
I'm not a fan of jimping but I like the design and think it could work.

Perhaps we need to start a new thread, something like, "BK2+ Death Chant". :D Not trying to sound braggy, but I really like the design too.

A little extra reach for batoning and chopping, choil and jimping for close work, big thick tank that will slice an olive into twenty slices.........I'm telling you, that's a winner.

I always wondered if I shouldn't have made the grind come back closer to the handle, with less heel. Just for aesthetics, that is.

Hell, you have the tools and know how, do a mock up brother.

I might have to do that. I'm pretty pumped about the design, wondering what it would feel like...

Need to get some 1/4 1095. I wonder if there is a piece of Cro-Van I could talk somebody out of...

Great design!

I have a design that's pretty similar to what you've done (only i drew mine) that will be made this Spring - it's not too big, but *definitely* not small.

I'd encourage you to do a proto-type and see how you like it. If it really scratches your knife-itch, have one of the Custom Makers here make one for you.

Line it up some, give you an idea of length change a bit better:

Other than the knife looking like its getting a hard on in that animated pic I think it's pretty cool,I don't mind jimping or the choil. I'd buy one for sure!
