Are you guys taking about the Camilius made BK2 vs or the Kabar made one, or something else?
DBob,
I'm not sure, but I'm pointing to Bladite as the diabolical head of the syndicate. Ethan is just a figure head.

Hello all,
I was hoping someone may have some inside information that they can share. I am trying to purchase the current, soon to be "old", version of the BK2. Nobody seems to have them in stock. All of the vendors I have spoken to have said that the BK2 is on backorder until early March. My question is, when these knives ship from the factory, will they be the old version or the new version? I read another thread that mentioned the new version wouldn't be available until about April. However, in the photos from Ethan's visit to the factory, it appears that the new version has been in production since at least early January. I would think that if they had any of the old version that had been produced prior to that, they would have shipped by now. Does anyone have any information?
Thanks.
Yes.
Welcome aboard. BF is great, and the Becker forums are great, too. You'll meet good folks here.
Could you explain this new/old BK2 Is it the camilius and kabar? or something else. I would like to know because I was thinking about getting one.
So if I read correctly the only real differences between the 1st and 2nd gen are that the handles are skeletionized and theres a extended pomel (kinda like the BK7?) It this correct? Did I miss anything?
and that's quite a figure he has too...
see, it all started innocently enough when i found a cache of inexpensive Beckers nobody knew about, and bought them, and used them, and then i found MORE, and at very good prices... my first two BK-02s cost me, $30 each NIB at a store closing... then i was hooked. now, i've paid a BIT more for certain hard to find models, because that's the game, and insanely less for others. so it goes. still don't have the ENTIRE historical set, but maybe someday... a couple are VERY hard to find
Bladite
Bladite, if there are any that you don't own, I probably don't even know about them. You have the best collection of any that I know about.
whoa whoa,,,,,,,vat aboot that Guyon feller?
Pitt, just wanted to say, welcome to the Cult!
No, I think you got it all. Either way, you can't go wrong with a BK-2. I have the older one, but I'll be getting the new one, too, when it comes out... as many of us will.
I will probaly just get the first generation because I dont care about having a extending end because its on the Becker Bk7 and I never use it. And I also dont care about weight; actually I would like it to stay as heavy as it already is.
