BK2 test, the final part (LOTS of pictures)

Stripped and tape removed. Missed some coating right there at the sharpening notch.

Where she is as of now. Took a dremel sanding drum to the spine to smooth it out. If you ever strip one you'll see just how many tool marks that coating hides.

This sucker is coming up on 5,000 views.

Well at least I know I can use mine to chop up my old lawn mower. Great test though it confirms that these are one tough knife. I would like to see how an Esee 5 would do compared to the BK-2.

Looking good. Great work FAL'ER, I really like those wood scales on her!

It's only going to grow exponentially as it gets passed around.
200+ more views since I posted that an hour and a half ago.
Look for more BK-2 backorders at dealers. :D

Heh, it'd be funny to know just how many BK2's were bought because of BRab's threads and photos.

At least another one here!
I was trying to decide between the BK2 and BK9 as a gift for my son and this made the decision for me. I'll get him the BK9 later.:D

Just noticed, your BK2 has a solid handle. Mine is skeletonized. When/what year abouts did they stop making solid handles ? Seems like it would be a better chopper with a skeletonized handle, as it would have more weight forward, but IDK ??????????????????

Whem the pommel was added so were the cut-outs

Hey, that looks more like the Ritter/Becker collab

Yep, That's a 1st gen ka bar, BK2. I don't much care for the hammer pommel, tang extension but I very much like the cut outs of the gen 2.

See, now i LOVE the extended handle/hammer pommel. Thats one way i used to break my bayonetts in the Army, opening cans & wacking the end with a rock.

BRab------I've been meaning to say thanks a lot for this post. I have posted this link a few times, with the comment of "if you need your knife to do more than what he did to his in this thread, then maybe you have the wrong tool for the job."

Just got done watching Kellys Hero's. I have no doubt that a Becker could have gotten through those thick wooden bank doors, just not as fast as an artillery round !!!

All I've got to say at this point is that my lawnmower better not piss me off.

Can't imagine not having the hammer pommel (shudder). I use that a lot.

Its funny... was camping this week with some friends and their kids and I was telling the kids about these tests while they were oohing and aahing over my BK2. Eventually they started saying "well, it can cut through a refrigerator so it can cut through this" which became a frequent camp phrase :)

Tagged for awesomeness! Now I'll add that on top of a new Necker that's not even been received yet, I have BK2 getting called in today. Have I mentioned my love/hate appreciation for this place yet? Thanks FAL'ER !

Never really understood test's like this, But they are fun to watch. I could just never imagine doing that to any of my knives. But I guess at least now I know if My lawn mower ever attacks me I can kill it w/ my BK2!!
