Ka-Bar was kind enough to send this little badboy out to Beckerwest.
I wasn't even aware it was in production!
Apparently Ka-Bar will be doing some quarterly realeases....very interesting. :D
Maybe OKB or Ethan could pop in here and give us a little more info?

I don't have much info on this knife other than my initial thoughts and a quick review.

Here are a few quick and dirty specs
-blade length: 3 1/4"
-total length: 6 1/2"
-made in China

The first thing I thought when I saw the BK23 Skeleton was, "Wow, that's a cool looking knife"!
It definitely stays true to the blade pattern of the BK9 and BK10.

The second thing I thought was, "Finally! An option other than the Remora as a companion knife"!

Don't get me wrong. I like the Remora well enough, but to be honest I just don't use it very much.
The Skeleton just feels like it was meant to be put to work.

Here are a few pics:

I can't quite get a full 4 finger grip, but it feels OK locked in with 3.

Here's a size comparison next to the BK9:

The flap isn't quite long enough to cover it on the BK10.

It fit's pretty well in the BK4 sheath and I assume it will in the BK9 as well.

Now that is one sweet looking blade right there. Put me in for a few!:D

Where do i sign! :eagerness: would love a blade that size, in that style. Fingers crossed KBAR offer handles though. Curious as to whether or not the sheath will be plastic or nylon? Oh and we need it to be made in the USA! (dont want much do i)

Hmmm....it's interesting...

Not sold on it yet. I think I would definitely prefer it over the BK13, but can't imagine I would pick it over the 14.

But I do like the blade shape. Would be interested in getting my hands on one at some point.

The remora is made in the USA.

Yeah, it is now but hasn't always been. Maybe this one will eventually be US made. Dunno what steel it is. It does look cool but I'll wait for a US one...that's too bad too. I'd love to get my hands on one and strip it, make scales and a sheath.

Your right, the 1st model was made in China, then production went to the US. I made sure i was getting the US made model when i ordered my Remora from my supplier.

Interesting... So it's just about the same size as the Ka-Bar Acheron. That sells for about 10 bucks.

If the "BK23" is the same price point, I'll probably get one just to have it. I assume it's 440SS.

Thanks for the sneak peek, Jonny. They were pretty quiet about this. Makes me wonder what else they have in the works...

interesting.

color me the last to know :D

My thoughts exactly!

Cool knife though and it has the Becker logo. Can't be all that bad.

I can't wait to see what folks do for custom handles on this

Exactly, that's why it got my attn. if its $10 instead of $25 then that's a different story. Won't hurt my feelings so much for being Chinese. I'd pay $25 for that if its US made.

I asked Ethan about it at Beckerwest, I don't think he designed it per say, but obviously they have to get his approval before stamping his name on it.

The "HECHO IN CHINE" doesn't excite me. I'll hold out for a Made in the USA.

Cool little knife; thanks for sharing Jonny! Love the blade shape. Definitely looks like a throw in on my next purchase.

So they've designated this the 23, eh? So when does the 18, 19, and 20 get released :)
