BK6 Patrol Machete Passaround Discussion Thread

Well, the idea is to at least let you guys see what some of the old ones were about, I don't have many, so, what the hell. The thing that gets me about this one, its short, 21 OAL, and a little thick 5/32 by my caliper, but its really handy. Forward weighted, and a recurve :barf:, but it chops like a mad man. The edge is a little dinged, but by the time this is over, it should be fine.

What ya'll gonna chop first?

is that middle nut loose there?

bonus: anyone taking the BK5 that can put a professional convex edge on there, i imagine the m00se3y one might like that, but check first ;>

Just signed up for the passaround. Thanks Moosez!

I'm in utah, covered in snow and don't expect to see grass or green stuff for a few more months, so I hope I'm low down on the list. Signed up for this cause I've always wanted to try one and I have some trail clearing projects planned for this spring as soon as the snow leaves some trails.

i'm going to test it head to head against the esee lite machete to see who scares the most snowshoe'rs on my hike...if i get lazy i'll just do a fire wood testing.

just so ya'll know, the BK6 likes snow -- and is brutality incarnate to juniper...

Like I said, its a user, not a shelf kept 'chete, if someone wants to take the time to convex it, cool with me. The screws are not loose anymore, that pic was taken just after I recieved it (gift from a forumite), and it needed a little maintenance.

Believe me, she still works just fine. If we don't get 20 Beckerheads to sign up, we will extend the timeframe that each user gets, I was hoping to get some feedback on the use from winter to spring. Go from frozen to green vegitation.

Either way, it will be fun, and those that haven't seen one or used one will get a chance

I want to sign up but I just don't know that I would have much time to use it. I have a new baby on the way and work stuff to worry about. Though, I am curious how it would do on blackberry bushes. I got a couple crappy machetes a while ago and they don't do $#it on 'em. Some one is gonna have to chop down some berry bushes and let me know how it does :D

OK. So, we will have two weeks to play around with the BK-6. Great, I am looking forward to it!
I am surprised there was no other Canadian participant... :( .

Two weeks?! Heck yeah! That will definitely give me a good chance at getting a good camping trip(or two!) with the Mrs. together!

Thanks for putting this together Moose!

since this is moose's, may i suggest that we ship it insured and with tracking # from person to person.

Ya'll feel free to ship it however you feel. USPS, UPS, FEDEX, insured, uninsured, doesn't matter. I will more than likely ship it USPS Priority mail, with delivery confirmation, to Switchblade61 Friday, God willing. After that, whatever ya'll feel is best.

Oh, and don't forget the Pay It Forward part of the passaround too. This something new that I haven't seen on the forums yet, so, I wanna make it good.

Switch will be getting a Kershaw Leek, I gotta stuff in the sheath with the 'chete.

Pay It Forward
