BK6 Patrol Machete Passaround Signup and Review Thread

I knew the job was dangerous when I took it.

Basically, I knew that I could send it out, and it might not come back.

Honestly, I'm not that upset, really. If he took it, and meant to take it, well, then what goes around comes around.

I have his address, phone number, etc. If I want it bad enough, I'll get it back. Fact is, it was given to me, as a gift, so, perhaps it was fate's way of moving it to the next owner.

I will say this as well, future pass arounds will be scrutinized alot more, before anything leaves out. I hate it for those that are interested, but thats the way it is.

Bummer Moose that really sucks.

You should make a list of people that have been in previous passarounds.
That way its easy to know who to trust...

Trust. That's a heavy word. Its teh interwebz, ANYONE can commit fraud. Hell, there was a guy not long ago that was a longtime member of BCUSA, turns out he wasn't nothin' but a damn thief. Just an example.

I'm not saying I won't exclude anyone on the next passaround just because I don't "know" them. There will be more scrutiny in the passaround.

Honestly, I feel like its my fault, I gave too much leeway with the Machete. I didn't stay on top of the folks involved in it, I didn't follow the thread like I should have, and I added more people after it had "technically" concluded. I shouldn't have done that. Once the timeframe for a review was done, I should have been on their butt like a rash, to get it sent to the next one.

Live and learn, I suppose.

well, WE have his phone number and address. we can calls him we can. perhaps we will.

it would be better if he just sends the thing home though.

i would advise that nobody actually knock on this guy's door. suicide by cop? let's not have that happen, eh?
 
i just read this whole passaround and i got to the end and it really upset me because this is the type of thing that happens and ruins it for all who may want to try out a blade but dont want to or cant afford to just drop the money to try it... really messed up. sorry moose for your loss
 
i'm pretty well liquored up. i'll call him out on the esee forum's feedback thread if the site is available right now. no worries, moose...the beckerheads will try and get that patrol machete back to you.
 
hey boss I know I asked you about a week ago but have there been any changes. Have you gotten it back yet?
 
Haven't gotten it yet. I sent him a PM with my address in it and he said he would send it. That was a few weeks ago. No 'chete yet.

Man this sucks. This is the first thread I read after I signed up.

This makes me mad. Leave it to one idiot to ruin it for over 150 really good guys.
 
Messaged in every way I have available (i.e. here, ESEE, and regular email) and a feedback page started over on ESEE. Hope it helps spur him into action to do what is right and get this thing back on track.
 
Yeah I posted on your thread. I know I don't have anything vested in this passaround, as I did not sign up for it but this is messed up. It means that at a later date when I want to be involved in one I will be looked at harder. Moose this has nothing to do with what you didn't do or fate. You did this as an act of kindness and quite frankly this person has walked all over your generosity.

I'm fed up with folks making it harder on decent people to continue to be decent.
 
Is it pretty much a given at this point that he's sold this thing? They're going for a lot on ebay. Or are you guys just thinking he's kept it?

I don't think that is the case. One, that thing was pretty beatup when I got it, and its been passed around to some folks since then. Two, TX3 has good feedback both here and at the ESEE forum, where he spends some of his time.

I will also say, he is involved in LE and The Reserves, and has been doing quite a bit of training lately.

With all that said, if there was some mistreatment going on, all I can say is life is like a wheel, it all comes around again.

I'm not mad, upset, or even worried, I would just like to have my 'chete back. If it doesn't come back, its not like I don't have tons of knives to replace it.

So big, I just want my steel back.

Based on my comunications with him (threat xxx), I don't think hes up to anything. I feel like it's something he forgets about and then is gone for long periods.
 
He got a wife? I'll send her something nice from Harry and David if she can take care of this for her slackass old man.
 
My BK6 arrived back home today in great condition. Clean and sharp, ready for action.

TX3 also put an old Marine F/U knife in the tube with it. I collect these, and this was a great example of one. Thank you TX3 for that, its marvelous.

Done deal, back home, and now I get to start in with it.

I'll take some pics of it as is, but I'm going to be stripping it, and convexing it at Ethans. Probably patina it, and square a portion of the spine.

Here we go.
