Wait no longer Dubz
Thank you, brother. I appreciate it. It’s been a test on my patience these last few days waiting for layer after layer to dry and not being able to handle the Kephart.
That would have killed me!!!! It's setting next to me right now it doesn't leave my side.Thank you, brother. I appreciate it. It’s been a test on my patience these last few days waiting for layer after layer to dry and not being able to handle the Kephart.
Congrats to you Tanker, WELL DONE !!!Wait no longer DubzI will piggy back my whole hunt for ya Warrior.
First Morning it was warm. The second morning was about 9 degrees and the third morning was 6°
My field. It's 130 yards to the far wood line. And 60 to the Birch on the left
Lil yearling came by she kept looking back waiting for her Daddy to stroll up.
Stocked the freezers
Nice Big 8 point
The Bk62 was a pleasure to use. I put a 20° Convex edge on it before the hunting trip. The steel is still 1095 so after each deer i would hit the edge with a ceramic stick. The ergonomics are fantastic and the Kephart did a great job. There are better shaped blades out there for skinning and processing deer sized game. But most of them are dedicated just to that task. The 62 is a true Jack of all trades camp knife. It excelled at processing deer. I carried the Beckhart on my hip all week and the only complaint I have is it poked me in my side while riding in the truck but that is a weight loss issue on my love handles lol and not the knife. The Bk62 in action
Making some 80%20% Maple venison sausage

Looks Great GeofS!Wow, hard to follow up afterTanker 1/66 .
Finally reassembled my 62 after several days of doing things.
I sanded the scales, dyed them maroon, and hit them with three layers of BLO. I used the same maroon dye on the sheath, let it dry, and saturated it with leather honey. Finally, this morning I mixed up a batch of beeswax and mineral oil (you can see it in the 2nd pic), applied it, let it dry, and then buffed it.
