BK9 vs. Junglass?

I was happy to find a forum to talk about knives, even paid in to give some back to the hosts for all the info I was learning but then called a troll here WTF. Sorry for pissing your cornflakes this fine morning.

It was tongue in cheek, dude...chill. We're pretty goofy in this forum, stay a while and you'll see.

"Who dug up a 10 month old thread?" is a loooong way from "whose the flippin moron who dug up a 10 month old thread?" Who called you a troll?

EDIT TO ADD: You aren't a troll until you complain about the old Becker sheaths about 40 million times....

I've been called a troll. But in real life. Maybe because I am 5' 300lbs and look like a gingerkid Yoda.

man I would like to get a hold on the junglas... maybe if some extra cash falls this way...but yeah, the boomslang is a monster chopping machine, albeit a bit heavy, and you have to reprofile the bevel and give it a nice convex to make it chop the way it's supposed to be meant. But, bang for the buck, all things considered, the BK9 is an obvious winner. Get all 3 of them, solved.

Don't worry about it man, like C_Tanner said nobody's mad. We kid around a good amount.

C_Tanner can come off a little rough sometimes if you don't know him, but I think he's almost always joking around with it. Part of the problem with the interwebz is you can't really tell tone like you can speaking in person.

On topic, I've never handled a Junglas but would like to some day as most people say it'll out-chop the BK9. I think I'm a little more inclined to get the ESEE Lite Machete though.... lighter, longer, better chopper, and less than half the cost.

I'm guessing you've done a bit of work to the edge of your Boomslang to get good results? I've heard they come pretty rough from the factory.

From what 42 blades wrote some time ago, the issue with boomslang edges has been brought to attention at Condor. Dunno how they rolling out now, but mine was taken to the belt sander and then sandpaper over leather to finish it up.

Don't let it get to you man. We are happy to have you here.

CCMI - no unlimited lifetime warranty on the lite machete though. Something to consider.

Not only that....But recently I noticed they were REAL cheap on a website that calls itself a specialist in machetes. I mentioned it to Dave Canterbury since he used to carry the ESEE Lite Machete in his store. He told me they quit carrying them because A) The BHK Machete came out and is vastly superieor in design (the one I have I've posted pics of) and B) He's gotten many reports of the handles breaking.

FYI: ESEE doesn't make the lite machete blades, they are sourced from the same place the BHK Machete is...Imacasa of El Slavador, which has a reputation of making the best machete blades, period. Thats also where Condor gets theirs. My BHK Machete is one of my favorite pieces of steel, and the one I would grab if I were being overrun by walkers :) Both the ESEE and Condor are more or less common machete shapes, whereas the BHK was designed by Blind Horse themselves, and manufactured for them by Imacasa. Mine is razor-frickin-sharp, too. (and does have the lifetime warranty)

Half the cost, better performance.

Best there is.

TRAMONTINA FTW!!!!

:D

Moose

And yet, Condor, Blind Horse, and ESEE didn't think so....Neither do I, and in my mind, thats what counts. :D

Tramontina is from Brasil, right?

If I can't post this, delete it, but the best source to see about every type of machete out there from every company possible is Machete Specialists. They don't sell knives.

Just change the name.

I would prefer you said 42Blades, since he's a dealer here.

And yet, Tramontina is still better. Just because........

:D

They are both great, I've used them both extensively, I have a Collin's pattern Imacasa, and a Pate style Tram that stays in my car.

I also know a guy that works closely with Imacasa, he's also one of the foremost experts on machete's in the US and probably the world.

He says this, "They are a machetes, what does it matter?"
