BLACK To The Beach-GAW

Great taste in knives by the way! I can't choose a singular favorite GEC pattern, but if I did a "top 7" you'd have four of them (57, 42, 48(improved only), 38). The #57 is a strong candidate for my overall favorite, but mine is a 1 of 2 though, so I won't use it. Hoping they do another run soon. The #42 single blade is the knife everyone thinks is too big, but rides so well in pocket.

The 57 is my favorite. Something about that chunky bolster and the wharncliff. I hope they make another run of whits or halfwhitts soon!

And the 48 is just okay, until it's an improved trapper. Then it's phenomenal.

Great minds, right?

Yep! I'm actually not a fan of the standard 2 blade trapper at all, but that straight edge replacing the spey makes a huge difference for me. I like the #74 versions a little more though I think. I still wish they'd make a sub 3.5" version of either. I'll state again that I hope they run more #57 wharncliffs, just in case someone's keeping tally. :)

Rockon75 Rockon75 , I give you credit for taking those precious knives to the beach. Looks like they have plenty of well earned patina to protect them from some rust though. My #83 did well there last year, but I had to flush sand from it every day it seemed...even when I was barely on the beach that day.

All sorry for the delayed post for day 7. Updates for 7 and 8 are coming soon. Yesterday was so busy I just couldn't get an update written. I did get some good pics though and we will have the final clue. Stay tuned.

Had the town correct. Now to figure out where in that town you may be. I feel like a kid again and "Where in the world is Carmen Sandiago" is on tv

Great giveaway. Pretty sure I was able to pinpoint it to the street, but the house number is a complete guess. Good luck everyone

Thanks for taking us along. I how the trip was as enjoyable as it looks.
I hope your son is feeling better, congrats to him on the win!

I have spent some time in Folly Beach and some of the surroundings areas, so I know just how beautiful it is. Thanks for unintentionally jogging some great memories.

Great idea for a GAW and great pics too. Seems to me that you had a wonderful family vacation with black at the beach.

I could almost taste the crabs here in So Calif. One local grocery store does sell Old Bay seasoning, which we always used cooking crabs caught from Barnegat Bay in NJ.

I only had one guess and it has been posted. Satellite mapping is amazing.

Thank you very much.
