BLACK To The Beach-GAW

Although it's already been guessed, I'll post my guesses too:

1. 9429 South Old Oregon Inlet Rd
Nags Head, NC 27959

2. N 35° 52' 18.852" W 75° 34' 34.404"
Just to be different

Thanks again for the fun thread! If you split a prize among all correct guesses, I'll take a bolster or shield :)

I had the satellite picture all pulled up and ready showing the exact railing that the peach was being cut on all set to go. I had no idea this many people would be straight up address ready.
It's impressive and scary all at once, isn't it?

Best of luck everyone.

I had it up and ready early this week and have been waiting ever since.
It was pretty fun regardless.

Ok, the wife is taking the last leg of the drive so I'm catching up. I'm going to let the guesses run until around mid day tomorrow. Please post your guess with your most appropriate guess or guesses if 100, gold etc. Do not pay attention to the fact that your guess may have already been taken. Guess your guess. You'll see later.

Well, in that case, for my third guess:

9429 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd, Nags Head, NC 27959

:D

I say...

9429 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd, Nags Head, NC 27959

9429 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd, Nags Head, NC 27959

Or...

Yep! I'm actually not a fan of the standard 2 blade trapper at all, but that straight edge replacing the spey makes a huge difference for me. I like the #74 versions a little more though I think. I still wish they'd make a sub 3.5" version of either. I'll state again that I hope they run more #57 wharncliffs, just in case someone's keeping tally. :)

Rockon75 Rockon75 , I give you credit for taking those precious knives to the beach. Looks like they have plenty of well earned patina to protect them from some rust though. My #83 did well there last year, but I had to flush sand from it every day it seemed...even when I was barely on the beach that day.

I carried them at the house, around town etc. Not to the water's edge. Still the pics led to sand being exposed to the knife. Each evening I made sure to lube the entire knife with mineral oil and place back into my organizer. When I get home, I will flush with water, dry and re-oil.
Congrats to Thomas! Well deserved.

The crabs look delicious.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thomas is a happy camper, and so was the crew. The crabs were dynamite.

Thanks for taking us along. I how the trip was as enjoyable as it looks.
I hope your son is feeling better, congrats to him on the win!

I have spent some time in Folly Beach and some of the surroundings areas, so I know just how beautiful it is. Thanks for unintentionally jogging some great memories.

Thomas is doing better, thank you. He has been on prescription ear drops and it seems to be getting the infection under control. Boy when he found out he had won, he had no problem grabbing shoes and hitting the door. Earache or not;).

Great idea for a GAW and great pics too. Seems to me that you had a wonderful family vacation with black at the beach.

I could almost taste the crabs here in So Calif. One local grocery store does sell Old Bay seasoning, which we always used cooking crabs caught from Barnegat Bay in NJ.

I only had one guess and it has been posted. Satellite mapping is amazing.

Thank you very much.

Now I don't live far from Batimore, so I will always give a shout out to old bay seasoning. But just for that, seasoning after cooking seafood. I've steamed bushels and bushels of crabs and plain old bay is not what I've found to produce the best flavor. I prefer J.O. Spice Number 2 Blend for use in a steamer. It sticks to the crabs better and what most people don't realize is you need, or at least my preference and all my friend's, is a spice that has actual rock salt. It seams to make the steaming process work better........just the way I've found that works for me. Now, those 20 crabs that I picked and are in a bowl in my cooler will get the old bay treatment in the morning, when I prepare them to make crab cakes for the reunion:):):).

I just finished supper, and you're making me hungry again.

I'm actually not much of a seafood guy in general (everything in NW PA is pretty much fish sticks) but FRESH seafood gets me drooling.

I have relatives, that will be at the reunion tomorrow that live in meadville. You may not have seafood, but you have or at least had, some of the best frog hunting that I've ever done. And froglegs are yummy!! Great memories floating the marsh with my dad and cousin.

Come to think of it, i had three roomates in college from Erie and each year they would return with a cooler full of walleye from lake erie's august season. Us poor college students ate high on the hog for the first few weeks of the semester. Walleye is one of my favorite fish to eat.

We used to go fishing for walleye in Minnesota every summer when I was in high school. We weren't exactly experts at catching 'em, but when we did they sure were tasty. :D

This post actually got me looking into the regs for frog catching in NJ, and it looks like I have another target this summer.

Since I can catch them on a hook, I am thinking of how a fly rod might work. If all else fails, I will go to the old standby, shining and gigging.

To play along, my three guesses are:
9429 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd.
Nags Head, NC 27959

9429 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd.
Nags Head, NC 27959

9429 S Old Oregon Inlet Rd.
Nags, Head NC 27959

I have heard a red piece of felt on a hook on a fly rod. Might want to try it.

In PA you can't hunt them at night, and you aren't going to get close enough to gig them in the day, so we shot them with 22 lr hollow points so no ricochets. But a number of years back they changed their regulations to state what are legal means of taking frogs during the day, crossbows, bows, spears, gigs, in the day, come on. They basically banned frog hunting without going through the hoops of banning the taking of a species. Anyhow, I digress, back to the guesses!!!
