Speaking for myself, of course, but there was no offense taken. In my opinion, you are beating yourself up over nothing.

Enjoy the knife, it's a good 'un! We'd love to see some pics of it.
I appreciate the kind words. It is a good knife. Unfortunately I didn’t qualify for one originally. I didn’t have enough posts because I don’t enjoy posting on forums. I enjoy looking at pictures and reading everyone’s story. I like to support the knife community even paying the fee to do nothing in the forum. The knife community can be special and I’ve witnessed it. But it also can be a bully

It just confused me when I saw the updated GEC production numbers for 2021. I thought they were stamped Waynorth like my white Lambsfoot. Which isn’t listed on the production numbers

Too bad that they weren’t all steel. The brass looks good with the Hemlock but every GEC I ever had that had white bone and brass pins/liners turned green. Washington Jack, pemberton, American Jack. all green
That is just what brass pins and liners do to white bone and Stag from contact with moisture , especially perspiration . Knife Slips help a lot , but they do not fix it totally .

Thanks Harry! I’ve been much more cautious with them. I’ve learned also that if you soak them in hydrogen peroxide it removes most of the Verdigris. I never knew what it was called until I just had to look it up From the previous post.

If knife slip is leather it will exacerbate the problem (development of verdigris), that’s why you don’t keep brass cartridges in a leather gun belt. Two of the finest from GEC (relevant knife content).A1A4C7CB-F41E-430D-8E9D-6995FCC8C4FA.jpeg
