On the Road Again with Merle
Well, I didn’t expect to be starting this thread just yet, but the cat’s out of the bag, so here we go. 🙂 I’m sure you all remember Earl the Barlow (bit of a scoundrel, running from the fuzz in Yorkshire, joining up with pirates and whatnot) and Pearl (a bit more civilized, though she did enjoy...www.bladeforums.com
I read your comment way to fast for a minute I thought I was in a episode of Miami Vice. Its certainly a looker, Dan, but how fast can you open it?![]()
Great to see an arrival in CanadaDon't let it get gummed up with Maple Syrup though....
But, I believe I still have the most northerly one 63 ° North.
Thanks, Will

That 2019 BF knife had the silkiest, smoothest, sweetest action... also I am older now ... my reflexes are not as fast anymore

But perhaps I still have it in me ... just one more shot at greatness

Hail to the New King of the NorthWhat's the coldest it gets there in winter?
Thanks, Will
Reykjavik. The world's northernmost capital.. For good measurementsDon't place that crown just yet...we may have to take this to decimals. I'm just a little shy of 65°N in Fairbanks, Alaska! Where in Iceland are youJacques Mi ?
Ah I've got you by a very little bit, 75km or so! Reykjavik is 64.1°N and Fairbanks is 64.8°N rounded to the nearest tenth. I had the good fortune of spending a few days in Iceland about ten years ago, beautiful country. And yes--I was visiting in February and was surprised by how mild the temps were, rainy weather. In Fairbanks at that time of year average temps are -20 to -30 (°C) and -40 is common. Our school kids have outside recess every day unless temps are below -28°C.Reykjavik. Will Power a well kept secret is that it doesn't get that cold here in the winter but rather just really, really rainy and ditto windy. Don't tell the tourists.
Lots of people! Fairbanks has a population of around 30,000 if you count only city limits, but the greater borough (metro region) is closer to 100,000. The most northerly place in Alaska is Barrow (Utqiagvik) at 71.3°N, population 4,500 and about 800km from me (but you can't drive there, there are no roads). Now if we have a BladeForums member living in northern Greenland they would have the title for sure. Thule (Qaanaaq) is at 77.5°N!Are people ALIVE up there on 65°
Here in Finland, Utsjoki is almost the most northerly place. Population 1200, it's on 69° 54and it's 990 kms from where I live.....
I'm hoping somebody lives in Greenland.....
