Question: Can someone claim to have a complete collection of all the BladeForums traditional knives if they don't have the smooth white bone from 2021? If not, I hope those few guys who have managed a complete collection until now also managed to make the cut for these, too!

I get your point but I'm not sure I agree. The Stag and any modded knives are "one ofs". These white bones don't really have a comparison. A new twist with their own story that means different things to different people, I'm sure.I'd say this knife has the same status as the stag-covered example Charlie showed, or any other modded example![]()
I don't think so ...

Similar, yes.Aren't they similar to the Eric's Jack knives?
Similar, yes.
The details are fuzzy as that was 8 yrs ago but I think we were shown a rendering of the proposed knife from GEC and an example of Erics proposal through Canal Street. The GEC was chosen as the forum knife and that's where I get fuzzy about who had the Erics Jacks done for a few people that wanted them as a side note.
I believe Charlie had them done, as an offering to those that were hoping for a stainless steel blade that year. There were 100 made. The stag for both the forum knife and the Erick's Jack was donated by John Lloyd.I get fuzzy about who had the Erics Jacks done for a few people that wanted them as a side note.
I forget whose SFO they were, Charlie's I think, but they were produced by Canal Street Cutlery, when Eric worked for them
Edit - Sorry Mark, I didn't do a very good job of reading your post! My recollection is that we went with the GEC knife, and then the Eric's Jack was produced shortly after![]()
Yes. Both of you have jogged my memory and I think you're both exactly right.I believe Charlie had them done, as an offering to those that were hoping for a stainless steel blade that year. There were 100 made. The stag for both the forum knife and the Erick's Jack was donated by John Lloyd.
I could be misremembering. It happens more then it used to.![]()
Is it my imagination, or have passions run even higher and longer over this knife than is usual for a BF annual?
Yes. Both of you have jogged my memory and I think you're both exactly right.![]()
I didn't know 100 were made. Thanks for that tidbit.![]()
Absolutely fantastic donation by Mr. Lloyd!
It's definitely time (well past time, imo) that we stick a fork in it. Here's to hoping for a better 2022.
Usually folks have lost interest in the forum knife before mine finds its way across The Pond!I'll drink to that Dylan!

Usually, by this time too, a new thread has already found itself being populated with ideas and fantasies for the next knife. It's quiet, for now, I hope it stays that way.
I've decided to name mine Bram - to immortalize the life sucking process that this knife represents. Life-sucking aside, ol' Bram is getting a lot of use though, we somehow were able to come up with a heck of a knife for 2021.

I always enjoy and appreciate your wit and perspective, Dylan, and this is a prime example of why.Usually, by this time too, a new thread has already found itself being populated with ideas and fantasies for the next knife. It's quiet, for now, I hope it stays that way.
