That would be a good combo! If you or anyone else end up doing a scale swap and want to sell the Jade scales, please let me know through PM. I like them and want a few sets to throw on some Cruwear Manix 2s I am going to be getting soon.

Please post pics if you swap out scales from the bento box M2; been thinking about that combo since I first saw the black liners/hardware/blade!
 
Mine was shipped yesterday and will get here Friday. This should give me a few days to try it out and decide if I should try to grab a backup next week from bladehq.

They've been selling knives for a long time so why wouldn't they know?

Straight from the email they sent out:

"Don't blink. This Blade HQ exclusive edition of the Spyderco Manix 2 will go fast. Live Tuesday, January 30 at 10 a.m., MST."

They knew.

As for another run of these they already said its not going to happen so if anybody wants one @ the normal price better get one when the remaining 140 go up for sale.

More like, they willed it by ginning up the demand for weeks preceding the release on social media. I have never seen so much hype surrounding the release of a knife.

People are are idiots and lemmings/sheep. You tell them that something is limited and they go crazy. Bah, bah, bah!

Well, it is limited. And it was roughly $150, considering it was M4 and a cool jade color AND dlc , it was naturally going to have high demand
 
I bought it because it was dlc on m4, my first m4 knife, and my first Manix 2. Didn’t know the liners were dlc, and don’t care for the jade scales. I’ll wait to see it to decide if I’m going to go for carbon fiber or not.

Yes, bladehq is in the business to sell knives. They invested their capital in a knife, you better believe they want that knife sold out quickly.

It is a really cool knife and not overpriced IMO, but I’m waiting for the Limited Anniversary Special Sprint Dealer Exclusive Edition. :thumbsup:

Nope. I hate black blades. I have the satin version. I don’t get caught in all of the hype surrounding products. There is nothing that I “have” to have.

In fact, I posted here prior to the sale. I don’t wait in lines overnight to buy anything- never have done it. I also don’t pay scalping prices.

I didn't have to wait in any lines, and the price for this folder is, IMO, an excellent buy and far away from any "scalping" price. I considered this model to be an excellent buy. The simple fact that it sold out so quickly...points out that many forum members agree with this opinion.
In the case of M4, I believe that DLC will be a big relief to some folks.
I have several M4 blades in satin, and have never found any rust on those blades, but welcome the addition of another very nice folder to my meager collection.
I guess there is plenty of room on our forum for both viewpoints.

I don’t have social media (unless you count imgur, but I only use it to post pictures too large to put here) so I didn’t get to see the “hype”. I wanted a Manix and an m4 blade, prefer less maintenance so wanted a m4 blade in dlc. The fact you have the satin version and saying stuff about the dlc version?? I just don’t get the point.

The point was that I was not interested in the black blade one-personally. I am not denigrating the knife. If it floats your boat, the so be it.

The “scalping price” was in reference to the secondary market and not the BHQ pricing.

I have never been one to follow the herd on products. If everyone wants one, then I have little interest in it, unless I can easily get it at the regular pricing. I will not wait in line or sit by waiting for a time that it is offered for sale or do a preorder. If I get one or not, it does not matter.
 
Guys in my experience DLC does not prevent rust.

I have no scientific proof but I have seen rust form pretty quickly on some ZTs with DLC. My friends ZT0303 has rust coming right through the DLC. My ZT0770M4 has small rust specs and that is a full DLC coating.

BTW I love ZT, Spyderco and I love this new Manix 2 M4 DLC. Mine should arrive tomorrow!

No bias or hate here. Just love them blades.
 
I was never into DLC blades but had to jump on this one. The Manix has been my favorite Spyderco for a long time.

The price on these in the secondary market are going to be absurd!
