Blade Length for EDC

I voted 3 inch. That really seems to be my sweet spot. If I have my bag with me I always have a 4 inch in it if I need anything bigger. For fixed blade I haven't used anything longer than a 4 inch blade. I recently got a 6 inch blade. I'll see how I like it.

I edc a Gayle Bradley #1 which is slightly less than 3.5" and perfect for my carrry and cutting needs. I like the M4 steel and the large handle. I can cut a lot of stuff before having to sharpen.

I carry both a folder and fixed blade on me daily. One of which is always a little longer than the other, but it doesn’t matter which one is which. I’m normally fine with a 2in blade for most things edc, but I like to have about a 3 inch blade with me as well. Those seem to handle most anything that I personally use a knife for, other than in the kitchen. If we were to take social graces, laws, and all the other aggravating issues out of the equation, I would probably carry a fixed blade on my belt of about 5 inches, a smaller fixed blade between 2-3 inches in a pocket, and forego the folders altogether

The last six years or so have taught me to appreciate a range of blade lengths, but also taught me that my default size is 3.5". I'm never sad when I grab a 3.25" or 4" blade, though.

When I want something smaller than 3.25", I've learned that I should just carry a slipjoint.

I voted for 3.5" but would have probably gone 3.25" if that had been an option. I think it's kinda the magic size for edc.

For traditional including 110 and it's variations 4". For a fixed 3.5" is minimum and max depends on what I am doing

3" is my ideal length but I have to say my BM adamas mini at 3.25" is not bad. A do it all blade.

I have tried bunches of knives, have found 2-3/4 to 3" to be the range I like, with 2-3/4" Ideal in my opinion. Anything shorter than that I find myself wishing I had more blade at times. Anything longer than 3" starts to feel a little goofy and oversized to me for EDC tasks

My preference for blade length on a folder is 3.0 to 3.25". I also edc a fixed blade and like that a little longer at 3.5".

I didn't vote as I don't see 3.25" listed and that is may overall favorite edc blade length.

I voted 3.5" . My most carried knives are the Rat 1, Endura, Endela, Astor, Rift, and UH. Roughly 3.4"-3.7" range.

I think a big knife , done correctly, fits the bill. Something like a Military with a slicey blade.

I mostly carry a PM2 or Manix 2, sometimes a Manix 2 XL, so I voted 3.5". I don't want to carry anything smaller than a PM2.
