BLADE SHOW ’2013 – Show us what you got; Please!

Hello Takulu,

Yes, these are orders that I am sending back to Taiwan. And yes, you can post them on Knifeedgeforums if you like. There is one more on page 5 of this thread.

Also, I almost have your knife ready to send out, I have the sheath made so all I have to do is put the two finish coats on the leather and then I can send it out before the BLADE show.

Have a great day!

Wish I could be there! It's been too long since I've seen you guys!

Jon- I'm with Gary! That knife and sheath combo is awesome.

Kyle, beautiful knives! If that ivory integral had a 10" blade, I think you'd force me to get a real job so I could convert to collecting! :D That's a stunner!

Erik- I noticed in your pictures you didn't get the sheaths done until you ditched the leather work boots and broke out the clogs. ;) :D

Don- those slip-joints are dreamy! :)

Working on the other items. The prototypes did this:

That second dryer in the background will be used for some Youtube video sometime after Blade showing those as-yet unnamed items being put through their paces. :D

Here's my "SECOND AMENDMENT BOWIE" for BLADE.

One of 5 knives going to BLADE next week with a 10-1/2" second amendment theme damascus bowie blade, with blade and handle shapes of the antique Michael Price style.

Blade damascus has a "Newts Wootz" core with 9mm hand guns and Ar15 rifles plugged into the woots core and surrounded by tight Turkish twist bars of 1095 & 15N20. The first blade went to the trash can but this second blade survived the unorthodox forging techniques. The guard and finial knob is of single twist damascus. The handle is 6 bar Turkish twist with side panels of check free, core mammoth ivory attached with 6 fine silver pins. The knife is of takedown construction. And of course it comes with a Paul Long inlayed sheath. Thanks for the great photo Chuck.

The two phrases in the core read: "Right to keep and bear arms" & "Just try to take them!"

Thanks for looking.

Okay, I quit!!! LOL Amazing work, Mr. Newton.:D Are you going to send a copy of that pic to the NRA?;)

Thank's, Kyle. Guys in our forums will be jealous of our lucky. I will post all your knives including mine on our forum.
God, you never know how happy me and Haze are. He is my dude and helps me a lot, and we have brother knives now.:D

Ron, your "SECOND AMENDMENT BOWIE" is more than awesome, as usual. I need to post it on our forum -- otherwise our forumites will kill me. I think they have expected your coming to Taiwan all the while. :)

Well, Kyle. I think we know what my next order will be. :p

Ron, that is a truly fantastic knife and a splended message board too. :)

Great knife, Ron. Love the theme as well as the construction. I'm still scratching my head as to how you were able to keep the edge of the wootz so straight while welding the Turkish to it but nicely done!

I would love to pick your brain sometime about your Wootz process. I'll probably never do any smelting but have always been fascinated with how to get the carbides to form.

Thanks for posting. Beautiful work!

Gary

Great work and I am looking forward to seeing as many of these in person as possible! I do not have a table but I will be bringing a few pieces of my work to show after hours and upon request...
