Blade Show 2005

OH YEAH!!! Im going! 1st timer...should be a blast! looking foward to meeting you guys :)

I'll be there at table 16-L.
It is a large enough show that if you can spend more than 1 day, it is worth the time to see as much as you can.
The first Blade Show I went to was not as a maker but as a collector. The selection and quantity of handmade and other knives is absolutely unbelieveable!
You can't help but have a great time!

Laredo7mm, check out the cost of a flight. It might be more cost/time effective to fly. Save on time, wear and tear on your vehicle.
Ask around someone might split a room with you.

definitely check out the flights. Found a roundtrip ticket for me (Springfield, Mo) for $220. Lock my stuff in a pelican case and put her in luggage. :)

See, now you guys got me debating about going again. ;)

Is the hotel at the convension center the nicest place to Stay. I've only been in Atlanta on business and I stayed right next to Tattle Tails :) shhhhhh.

I've been going for several years. All three days are spent looking at the works of the great makers, and I never complete the rounds of the left (makers) side of the room! I admit to spending much too much time with the suppliers, picking through handle materials and tools.
I'll try to make a badge announcing participating in BladeForum. Please let me know who you are.
See you there, Lynn
P.S.

I was planning on attending, but found out last week that I have a table. I have no idea where it is, or how I'm going to get an inventory built up in time, but I'll be there. Everyone should stop by and laugh at my empty table. Or I'f your feeling really generous say something like 'umm yea looks good. Oh hey there's Muppfff gotta go.'

Oh, I should be listed either as Wayne Suhrbier or Sanity Designs

Mark,

The Waverly is an awesome hotel, and is a VERY nice place to stay. Do a google on "Renaissance Waverly Hotel Atlanta" and you'll be able to find pictures of it.

Unfortunately, it is bery bery spensive to stay there!

I'll be staying there with my Dad. He's a night-owl like me, and a talker, so I have little doubt he and I will be in the pit together till the wee-hours of the night.

I don't know where I'll be yet. For now I just have a JS tester's table... I'd like to have a whole table, but we'll see.

I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing you YAHOOS!!! :D

Will be there as a spectator...so cover your knives unless you like drool marks:D
Would be nice if KEVIN would spring for some way to indentify your fellow forumites!!! Are you listening Kevin?
Maybe free Tshirts at the door for those who sign up ahead of time!!!
CHEAP advertising:D:D:D:D:D

I'll be there on Saturday making my usual money drop on supplies I can't live without. It's only about an hour and a half for me. I live in Jacksonville, AL.

Can someone stop by the blade magazine table and see if my little SideKick is there for a raffle? I'l love a picture of it. Thanks!!!!

The "PIT". I've seen this word (place?) used several times in this thread. Come on guys, where is this "pit", and what all happens there? I'm guessing a friendly bar type of area, where informal chatting/buying/selling/trading etc. is going on, more than likely in the evenings when the show is closed. Am I close?

I think you have it, Robert.
I'll be at the show, but I'm not a knifemaker yet, so I'll just have took at all the nice stuff I know will be there.

Last year when I went I went to the pit for a bit. Just a sunken floor bar in the one hotel can't remember the name not a bad meal served though. Definately a testosterone place. Needs more good looking women and less bragging knife makers....... ;)
