Blade Show 2005

OK Larry, OK. I'm working on it! I had Danny standing outside my forge shop the other day while I was running some bowie blades throught their thermal cycles. He had a 18" piece of I-beam sitting on a cinder block, a small hammer in one hand and a heavy rivet bolt in the other banging away on the whole thing. You'd think after going to all the shows and stuff (9 days old his first show) he'd be forging/grinding already but, I guess he's easing into it. I'm afraid if I left him home during Blade he'd hit me with that hammer when I got back! :eek:

That might be a plan though,have Tess keep making those killer sheaths and have Danny make knives, then maybe I can retire and find something I'm really good at to putter around with.

Great plan you've outlined regarding Lil' Slacker's move up the ladder to the realities of the REAL WORLD. Scheduled his Jr. ABS test yet?? Sounds as if there may be a chance of turnin' Ol' Danny Boy around....glad we caught him soon enough to ward off total ruination and a life of Welfare dependency!!;)
As far as your future...I'm sure PA has an agency to help in Vocational Re-evaluation. I'm relatively sure they can discover SOMETHING you're good at!;)

I will be there on Saturday. I will be meeting, greeting, shaking hands and passing out business cards as though I were running for public office.

Might even kiss a few babies (or at least their mothers) :D

I happened to arrange a "business trip" to Atlanta befor the exact same weekend of the BLADE show - how's that for coincidence!

Last year I got to hang out with Bill Moran and get some tips on silver inlay ( Bill did a a lil drawing for me too!) and learned more in 2 days than the whole year before. I hope to get some more ideas and some materials as well. Will be looking for other NECKA members and forumites too.

I just checked on reservations and they don't have any rooms left for Friday and Saturday nights. I can get one for just Saturday night, but not both.

Anybody that already has reservations want to split a room?

Was that at the waverly?

Did you check the Sheraton Suites. (770) 916-3900. It's within walking distance and is a lot cheaper than the waverly.

Also there is the Courtyard by Marriott 770-952-2555 ext.661 Also much cheaper.
It's a long walk but doable. They also have a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up.
