Blade show 2011 for me

Joe, great meeting you at the show...Joe was kind enough to give a newbie to blade some great info on makers to check out.

I was lucky enough to handle his jason knight bowie and the mirco tech before I headed home. very nice stuff!

I also agree about the desrosiers work and even a newbie collector to the master smith world knew how well their work would be received. I had contacted adam before the show about one of his knives and found them in the lobby after seeing one of their knives on the table and I didn't know what either of them looked like in person.. it was that distinct...I knew it was Haley's knife from across the lobby lol

Adam and haley are good people and very talented knife makers. I was hoping to buy one of adam's test knives but it didn't work out as I was second in line on a merovingian intergral and the first guy wasn't fool enough to pass on it!

ahhh well...for my first blade show I met some great people handled some great knives and had a great time...what more do you want???

Jeff

It was great to meet you and I am glad we had time to speak

You will find the entry into custom knives from fine production knives is fascinating journey and you are doing it at a great time. When I got into it there was no real information readily available. I was writing letters to makers that advertised in the back of gun magazines. With the advent of the Internet and organizations like the CKCA the pool you can pull from is fantastic. I highly recommend taking a look into the CKCA and checking out there web site. It has greatly helped me.

Reach out any time ya want

Thanks for the kind words

Hi Joe. I agree, newer collectors can truly benefit from the vast and broad knife knowledge of our collector and knifemaker CKCA members. In addition, there's all kinds of information on both our website and forum to help those just starting out. http://www.customknifecollectorsassociation.com/Knife_critique.html
