I took my book and I wanted to thank the makers for signing it for me.
And thanks everyone for making this a great show.

Until next time - good night.

This is the knife I took with me to carry.

It was a great show and seemed like a larger crowd on Friday than I've seen there in last few years that I've attended, getting there before noon and still having a hard time finding a parking space. I spent most of the day hanging out at a friend's booth and wish I'd been able to walk around and see more than I did. I enjoyed looking at the variety of custom and handmade knives as well as the production and prototype displays and getting to chat with old acquaintances and new. :)

Thanks for posting pictures for those of us who couldn't make it this year. Nice book with some great autographs! :D

I heard what sounded like a small caliber firearm going off at one exhibitors table. Anyone get the story, or why?

Who Won the Cutting Competition please ? :)

Doug

Doug,

I do not know, it was hot out and I had to get back in to look at knives.
There was so much to see and great people to talk to.
The photos there that I shot of the floor is nothing, That show was packed from the beginning, up to about late on Sat. closing.

There were six guys cutting, I just didn't have time, had to get back inside....:D

Well another Blade Show is in the books!! What a show it was for me. Not only did I have a great time but was honored to win the Best Folder and Best of show awards.

Bill posted on facebook ^^^^

He showed me a knife one night, it was like a small texas tooth pick with red stag - engraving on the spine (that he did) The blade was very sweet.
Opening and closing (or has the knife nuts know it - walk & talk ) on this knife, this is how will try to describe it...... it was so NICE!
Very nice Bill - Congrats! - :thumbup::thumbup:

Probably Joe Paranee cracking a whip...or someone who bought one from him. I gotta get one of those things:)

So what ever happened with Sam Lurquin, I thought he was testing for his MS this year as well? I know the he (well , the mail service people) lost his MS dagger test knife, but he ended up making another one that he shared on FB. Anybody have any info/ updates regarding his situation? And did that original dagger ever surface yet?

Thanks :)

~Paul

Sam did not have confidence in his new dagger and decided not to test this year. My wife bought a sub-hilt fighter from him that was going to be one of his test knives. It would have been her big score of the weekend but...she won the auction for the Ladysmith collaboration knife.

It looked like it happened from Mace Vitale's table. Maybe someone can ask him? To me, this loud noise wasn't appropriate to the venue.

Here are few pictures in the show room.

Scott McGhee's table. He needs to work on that pose a little. Probably self conscious. :)

Jerry looks like he's discussing blade geometry.

I visited with Claude Bouchonville from Belgium. This guy is the real thing. A first rate blacksmith and his knives stood out to me as I recognized the influence of good forging. In fact, I left his table a new owner of one of his signature designs. You might see a collaboration between him and I in a few months.

Wow, you have the privilege of attending the greatest knife show on earth and all you can do is bitch and moan about some noise you heard and bitch and speculate about who and what caused it? Seriously? I heard it too. Big whoop. Do you have anything resembling a positive contribution to make?

Wow, double congrats on those scores. Test or not, Sam's knives went fast and I was fortunate to grab the Damascus Maximus. The subhilt was pretty sweet as well. I know he will be back next year ready to test.
