Blade Show 2020

In addition to the risk of infection, there is also the loss of income that many of us are experiencing

I say cancel and look forward to 2021

There are also lots of other pent up issues. In my case I have had a needed surgery delayed by this thing, so even when it does clear I will be busy getting all of that done and that would likely tie me up for at least a month. Not to mention, it is going to take focused effort to get our company working again, so it's not going to be the best time for anyone to take a vacation.

And? There were literally hundreds of knife maker and vendor tables....so?

I'm not really trying to hammer you here, I just want to make sure that folks who may not have been before, understand what you're describing is not in any way accurate to the actual BLADE show.

Next year's BLADE show will be epic, since all of the makers and companies should (hopefully) be there. And yes, there'll be companies selling coins, leather belts, and other things....among the (once again) hundreds and hundreds of knife makers, knife companies, and reseller tables.
We were asked why or why not we would attend the show by the OP. I laid it out as to why I would not. I was hoping for it to be more maker/manufacture/dealer booths and fewer totem pole and belt buckle booths.

almost every maker and every manufacture in the cutlery world is there

I guess ya just have to know where to look

Yes there are other vendors but I’ve never seen a totem pole dealer :)

But I won’t be there this year either for the first time in over a decade ...... sad

What....I....I don't....

Literally every maker and manufacturer who's anyone in the industry (and tons who aren't!) are there. At this point, I am coming to the conclusion that you've never actually been to BLADE, or are somehow mistaking a local gun-show for the absolutely biggest scene in the knife world every year. Thoughts and prayers, ma'am. Thoughts and prayers for you.

They could offer a training course on how to build your own respirator in your shop. ....:eek:

I wish I could find the totem pole dealer. That would be cool in my front yard next to my metal chicken!

yeah it’s moved to first week of school my wife is a large part of running. Don’t think I’ll be able to make it. I’ll look to next year for sure though. I’ll have twice + interest as much to spend.

I’ll be there whenever it is held. June, August, whatever. I’d rather go in June just so I don’t have the hassle of changing flight and hotel reservations.

It isn’t happening in June their site shows it is already rescheduled for no earlier than August. If you have travels plans for the original date cancel them ASAP unless you just want to go to ATL at that time.

Anyone know of a list of knife makers/companies that have backed out of BLADE this year?

I had planned on attending with my oldest son, but that's also the weekend he planned to head back to college. Granted we'd figured we'd stay at a nearby friend's house Saturday night & he'd continue on to college on Sunday. But if a lot of the knife makers/companies we like are not in attendance we might not go.
