Blade Show 2024 Atlanta

It was a tremendous show this year, had a lot of fun, met a lot of cool folks, and spent entirely too much money (as usual!)

Jealous of your mk3! I love mine but that morph pattern is sick. He was down to 3 of them when I got to the table. I was having a hard time deciding which Damascus pattern to get so I asked Les to pick for me 😂

It was a great show as per the usual. Also per the usual at some point it becomes a blur. It turns out my little brain can only handle so many knives before everything starts looking the same.

In keeping with my minimalist carry philosophy of late I purchased only a Boker atlas one and a Boker atlas two. Together my purchases were below 60 dollars which was a far cry from last year where I bought a weaver leather strap cutting machine.

It seemed pretty well attended with all the usual suspects there. I had a great time talking to a lot of people including Wes Crawford, Paul Jarvis, Kevin Fashion and of course Vince and Grace Evans. Truthfully over the last several years the show has become more about people than the knives... Although it's still about the knives.

Another year n I've never been. I was at Nordic Knives in Boise Idaho and got first word I'd had of D' Alton Holder having passed near two years ago. He hardened one of my blades in 2013 and now it's even more special to me. I wish I had made it into a knife completely and could have shown it to him!

I never go to buy knives I am jsut selling for DISKIN but i always end up with something’s :)

By the way the LIVE WIRE won best OTF B Blade this year

Updated my personal carry

DISKIN OTF

Mirabile made me this very cool laminated fighter

I got my wife a new Chef knife

He was the one I didn’t see coming

I have many custom Bowies and really was not looking for any new ones

Bill BAGWELL was and is my friend and I have a bunch of his Bowies and i consider him the father of the modern combat Bowie

Eric Fritz a great maker and a friend of Bills had a very special Hells Bell with carbon furniture that he was helping a collectors widow sort out

Now all Bagwells are special but this one has an 11 7/8 inch blade and I have not seen many that long a true spine tickler

I do remember when Bill was making this knife so its kinda cool i have it now

Thank you Eric
