Blade Show...who's going!?

Doesn't look like I'll have any chance to make it, friends. :(

I was told that I might be flying back as early as 1 May, and going to Benning (in Georgia), but I am now scheduled to fly out sometime around 18 May- and will go initially to Fort Carson, in Colorado!

Maybe I can get together with the (Atlanta) locals sometime after I get back ...

Well that is totally the pits even if I can't go!!!!
But it's typical Army, or USA Military I understand as all branches are the same in the, "we're telling you one thing but are gonna do another," and the, "Hurry up and wait." syndromes.:( :mad:
 
That's too bad, John. But I'm glad you're on your way home all the same. Who knows, maybe some luck of the draw will find you in Atlanta. And if not this year, then hopefully next.

Well, my fridge died and it looks like I'm not going to be able to go after all. Dan I will be sending a PM to you, thanks for the kind offer but maybe someone else can use the passes.
 
I've never been. A few local knife shows is all. Wanted to go down last weekend to Solvang to see the knife show there, and buy a Bud Nealy Kwaito that I've been longing for a couple of years. I love that guys stuff and he is always a big presenter there. I'm Danish / German anyway so that town is always a treat.

But wasn't in the mood for a long drive, and the IRS absolutely _shelled_ us this year because I had to raid an IRA in late 2006 in order to survive. Worst hit I've taken in 15 years. (Another wide plank to lay at the feet of the scheming termagant who has caused me and mine so much grief, when justice finally arrives in this life, or the next. :mad:. BTW, what's the best way to remove all the flesh from a skull anyway? There won't be any brains to deal with. Boiling, or acid? Just wondering... :cool:)

Anyway (how did I get off on that rant? :eek:), no, not going, but envy all you guys lucky enough to live near there. Two reasons now to move to Georgia: Team Ford in Marietta, and Blade! AND a chance to meet Andy, can't forget that... :D

Blade really should be experienced by every knife lover at least once.

Seems the rules regarding the VIP passes has changed. In order to get in with the VIP pass, you will need to pay $5. Beats the pants of regular price...but not free (as it used to be)..:(

If this is a problem for anybody...I'll pick up the $5 for your pass.

no problem its great to be able to get in on Friday and considering the cost of this trip air,hotel,car etc being able to go all 3 days is important...are they ready to go out?

I'm open for either place, seems like most of the group doesn't really mind either way also.
Should I make the reservations for fogo de chao now , or hope that Rays has their stuff together by the time we need them?

I'm leaning toward making the definete fogo reservation for Sat night with a possibility (we'll discuss at the show) of getting together again Sunday at Ray's.
any opinions?

Reservations made for Fofo de Chao , June 9th (sat) for 8@ 7:00.

Show closes at 6:00 plus time to work out the transport and travel time.

Hey all, I'm planning on being at the show, how much does this fogo's run ? I don't want to spend all my knife money...
 
Too bad you can't just get the salad bar! I'd gladly pay $20 just for that.

If I could be there, that is. :(

On the bright side, I should be leaving A-stan in under a week! Got my awards and CIB today.

Congradulations on the CIB. I'm a retired Marine who did alot of time with
Army SF and Ranger units (Somalia,GW 1,Kosovo,Central America).
They seemed to think it was the only award the army
had that meant anything anymore.
