Whatever it is, it looks worth eating! That looks more like a torta or cemita
Looks great. Did you submerge the entire knife into the dye?I've always like big stock knives. A Clip big enough to handle anything that comes along and the combination of secondaries for every situation.
I bought this Case in 1970 and carried it alone, everyday for at least 25 years.

Seems to me that with a lot of folks as they get a little age, their pocketknives get smaller. While I do appreciate even a small peanut, the big Stockman is where my hearts at. So I was excited when last years forum knife was announced. Since Spark decided to have the Forum knife numbered I've requested # 406 as it is the area code where I live. When it arrived I wasn't real thrilled with the coloring of the bone. Mine was really light even in the jigging, so I figured oh well just keep it as a safe queen like my other Forum knives. Then when Spark went back to the $250 price and still had a bunch left over I decided to order a second one and try my hand with the leather dying process I've been read about here on BF. Some of the Forum knives that people likeTravman have posted look just Great! Not that Travman uses leather dye.
Anyway when the new one arrived it had really good color so I decided to dye the #406. Unfortunately I neglected to take a before dye pic but I did take a couple of the replacement #306.

No, I propped the knife up close to the under the cabinet light in my kitchen. Mine gets plenty warm. Heated up the knife and wiped alcohol on the bone several times with a Q- tip, trying to get as much oil out as possible. Then wiped it down with paper towel and heated it again. Using another Q-tip applied the dye, probably half a dozen times on the mark. Cleaned off the excess dye each time with a succession of scotch brights. Turned it over and did the opposite side, let it sit overnight and gave it a good oiling. So far no problems with color bleeding. We’ll see as summer heats up!Looks great. Did you submerge the entire knife into the dye?
I agree. Large Stockman knives are where it’s at. It took me a while, but I picked one up for myself.

A beautiful, unassuming Rolex that Explorer is. It goes nicely with the knife. A calendar shot actually.Looks great. Did you submerge the entire knife into the dye?

Really, I don't.
It's fantastic. Stop.
I can't believe these are still available.
I like the dye jobs I've seen on here, but I also happen to be thrilled with mine the way it came. I love the Case '75 pattern, so this has felt right at home in terms of size.Spark knocked it out of the park with this one.

I was opening and closing my 2024 BF club knife yesterday evening - as good a W&T as any pocketknife I own. It took GEC a long time to get their W&T consistently "just right" (several of my early ones were too light or were nail breakers) but not anymore. OHReally, for the quality, they’re a bargain.
