BladeForums 2024 Traditional Knife

Hey guys I sent my 2024 stockman to a custom maker in the great state of Alaska. He does alot of work on old pocketknives, he has a youtube channel called Warrior Werks. He replaced the jigged bone covers with Mammoth!!! Its incredible quality and the pics dont do it any justice!!!View attachment 3139257View attachment 3139270
What happened to the pins that hold on the scales?

That would be kinda awesome: strong neodymium magnets in the frame and scales so that you could swap scales out with relative ease for any occasion. It might kill your phone or credit cards, but you'd never lose a small screw or spring that drops into your pocket. Hmmmm...

You changed a great knife into a grail knife.

We could probably get a truckload of knives from Escanaba, Michigan real cheap. We could finally get that fixed blade forum knife after all. Who wants to pony up for a pallet of quality* steel knives?

*actual level of quality not guaranteed, at all. Not even a whisper of verifiable quality. Idk, might even give you a rash.

I haven't heard about anyone with deep pockets stepping up, so I'd go with "NO".
So call me ignorant (I am) but if we die a pre-order after an agreed on pattern, that would sort of negate deep pockets?

I assume it's more of a "not my battle" situation for most. For example I wouldn't know how to start that conversation, nor have the time to do it between the 9-5 and parent stuff. Then you need to be credible enough for people to just give you a hundred or two without being sent anything immediately with shipping info etc.

If you want it to be an official Bladeforums knife, it either has to go through Spark directly (unlikely since he's still trying to unload 2024 forum knives) or it has to go through a dealer who agrees to do it for cost (no profit). And before anyone starts collecting money, someone has to front the cost to cover Spark if they decide to abscond with the collected funds and leave Spark holding the bag. I don't know about you, but my life savings won't cover a hundred or more Opinels at once, much less whatever the polls settle on.

Yes, the 2024 is the latest BF knife. Since they are still available more than a year later, I doubt there will be another, unless someone with a lot of money decides to fund it.
Well, hopefully once 2024 sells through we'll see another BF knife. I guess it's tough with minimum order quantities, if you can't order less than say 500, but it takes more than a year to sell through them. Maybe every leap year then.
