These buckaroos are great slips. Keeps you from dropping the pouch in the brush. Nice soft buffalo that ages well. Dave and Nicole are really sweet folks too.

You guys sold me! They look nice and the price is right ($20).

I won't buy a knife that I won't carry and use, but there is zero chance I'm putting a $250 traditional slip joint that looks that nice directly in my pocket to bounce around against everything else as well as accumulate crud and lint. I will probably adapt the slip for neck carry.
 
Should I expect an email confirming my order and/or tracking information soon? So far I only have the PayPal email documenting the transaction.
 
This is my first (and maybe last) GEC knife, believe it or not. I've admired them for years, but each time a pattern that appealed to me dropped, it was sold out before I was able to accumulate the $$$ or I missed it altogether. It was fun finding the little tube and opening it, and then finding the knife wrapped in paper and not plastic.

Using it will tell the real story, but from just a visual inspection, I assert that if Case were making their traditional slipjoints like this at close to their current price point, they would be rolling in money like Scrooge McDuck.

You're all correct, of course. I just have some emotional damage. In years past, the idea of selling a knife was ridiculous to me. Then I got laid off for the first time (everyone in the location got axed by the parent company) in 2018. With COBRA and a mortgage, I had to start selling things. I have an AdV Butcher that would have been ideal to sell, but I used it pretty hard and sharpened it quite a bit, so there was no way to get much for it. When I look at the GEC in the tube, I get the feeling that I might need to sell it some day. Then I wonder why I bought it!

I haven't made a one stick fire for a few years (I was doing it weekly for a while to build my skill level). Maybe I'll use it for the first time to make some epic feather sticks,
