Before selecting my age on the poll, I predicted it would breakdown almost exactly as it is.

While I know this poll is only meant to represent Bladeforums, I get the feeling that the age range in the knife hobby in general is more varied. I think that the guys 30+ are more likely to participate on a traditional internet "forum" like Bladeforums, while younger knife fans will tend to use newer forms of internet community, like Discord, Reddit, Instagram and the like. Reddit alone has knifeclub with 140k+ users. Crazy!

Still a few years under 30 here but much prefer the forums for actual discussion... Reddit is terrible for that; just clogged with "NKD" posts and pictures of whatever the current flavor of the month is.

Here that stuff has a couple dedicated threads, which seems much better - you can still check out everybody's new stuff without it pushing all the conversation/discussion threads out of the room.

Discord I really only use for gaming with friends and my wife is on IG enough for the both of us :p

Reddit has some of the most uneducated knife collectors I’ve seen.

I’m at the age where I prefer surveys with fewer choices, such as “young whippersnapper”, “middle aged” and “old fart”. I haven’t yet gone senile, but I’m practicing for it.

Alright, alright: I’m 10 years and 5 months younger than Benjamin Franklin was when he signed the Declaration. But he had quite a head start on me, having only attended school til age 10, when he began his printing apprenticeship. I didn’t start working full time til I was 17.

37 years young… LOL!
I saw the rotary phone too (though most phones were button ones). Saw the rise and fall of Nokia. Grew my childhood in the 90’s and youth in the 00’s (wich I feel nostalgic about these days). Did you know that the first LOTR movie came out 20 years ago? Yeah, let that sink in.

Yeesh, thanks for telling me that you bastid, I didn't feel old before...

I turned 63 in May. I keep telling myself that I don’t feel sixty-three but, I am beginning to loose track of where I placed my knife and my keys. Thank goodness that I like orange scales.

Also, I am getting tired of being in pain at some point every single day.

Whoever said these are the golden years was nuts.
