37 years young… LOL!
I saw the rotary phone too (though most phones were button ones). Saw the rise and fall of Nokia. Grew my childhood in the 90’s and youth in the 00’s (wich I feel nostalgic about these days). Did you know that the first LOTR movie came out 20 years ago? Yeah, let that sink in.

Correction: The first Lord of The Rings movie came out in 1978.

I am 35. I joined shortly after high school and lurked for a couple years before with no account. I wanted to wait until I was 18 and had purchased my own knives before actually talking. This is a very special place to me. I don't always like the moderation, how people speak to me or whatever. I take long breaks when I'm annoyed, but I love this website. As long as it exists, I will keep popping in and checking on things. I like to hear opinions from real enthusiasts, not FB, IG, Reddit, etc.

Who remembers when 8track tapes were cool….

I thought they were cool when my grandpa showed me his collection. I'm from the cassette tape era, personally. I just remember that they were so big and held so little music.

At least I remember buying music at the store, having to rewind, fast forward past songs you don't like.

My first car was a 1969 Chrysler New Yorker

I remember I could comfortably carry 8 teenagers in it. 6 in a full sofa size rear seat and two on easy-boy like chairs in the front. The engine would have been a full 440Cu In V8, and suspension was so soft it took 6 of us to change a flat tire on an incline (4 to lift the back end, one to slide the bumper mounted lift jack in place and one to handle the tire. It's a good thing gas was cheap back then.

47 last month. Longtime friends become more scarce, I feel there's less time than there used to be. I'm to old for some things but still to young to needlessly suffer if it's not mandatory. The next stage in life is coming and I've got enough fire left for some potentially big changes yet.

Yeah, there is definitely a good way and a bad way to do anything. I have stopped trying to max my lifts. No more than bodyweight or a bit more for squats now, and more front squats than back squats. Gotta keep the posture into old age. As for kettlebells, do them how Steve Cotter does, and you should be on the mend. Here's an example of his amazing free instruction:

Never too late to fix exercise form.

My form was always spot on. I lifted very heavy back then, and trained very hard. I was in amazing shape! I could run, lift, do a gazillion or so pull ups, yada yada yada. Then I got some jobs that ended up blowing up my shoulder, finished off a knee, and gave me some kind of problem with my elbows, and my back.

Hindsight is always 20/20! I do need to get my out of shape butt back in the gym.

Fair enough Billy. Although I've had my share of injuries as well, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I have the built in barometer o' pain. 😒

I'm 36 in a month. I've been really into knives since I was around 12 years old maybe. I've been on bladeforums for 10 years now. Signed up 8 years ago, and stalked it for the first couple years :)

Nah, it sounds like you're smart. You lift like you're supposed too! Once I start going back to the gym, I plan on working out very smartly from now on.
