Anyone SEEING all 5 images at present? Murray - could you upload the images of the 5 finalists to your host and e-mail them to me?

This is a really tough one for me.
I like Bruce's knife for obvious reasons.
Rodrigo's fighter caught my eye because of it's unique, dark and exotic look.
Nick's knife got my vote because of it's understated beauty. I felt if it could look this good without any embellishments, it was a winner in my eyes.

I am getting all five images here. Interesting.

This annual event could be categorized differently, but if we ever decided to go to a seperate bowie contest AND fighter contest...which sounds like a good solution...we would really have problems conforming to each.

Well, I am glad someone is seeing them - that certainly conforms with what I am seeing. No "bandwidth exceeded" notifications, either. I'm hearing more images posted by others with different photo hosts are disappearing - could this be a BladeForums issue??

Roger

I'm only getting the Fisk photo.

A few weeks ago there was a "which is the best photosite" thread and some of us were questioned as to why we would use both Fototime and PhotoBucket. Well this is the reason I use both. Fototime has a lot of cool bells & whistles for displaying your photos, but I don't find it near as reliable a host as Photobucket if you store A LOT of photos.

Some are not getting the Fisk picture. Which IS hosted at PhotoBucket. Murray is getting ONLY the Wheeler - which IS hosted at Fototime. That's why I was wondering if it is a forum issue.

Of course, some people are seeing all images - which makes it hard to discern where the problem might lie.

And votes are still coming in.

If anyone has any clue as to why different people are seeing photos hosted at different sites, and some are seeing some photos and not others - again hosted at different sites - and others yet seeing all and some seeing none - I am all ears. :) 'Cause it makes no sense to me at all.

Doesn't seem to be a Blade Forums issue as Murray just posted the Justice on a test thread on the CKCA forums and it's red Xed there too.

I know - like I said - it doesn't make sense to me. If it's a Fototime issue, how come he can see the Fototime-hosted Wheeler, but can't see the PhotoBucket-hosted Fisk? I'm no expert - my ears are wide open to suggestions. If anyone wants to try uploading tp PhotoBucket or a different host altogether and e-mail me the pics, I will edit them into the first post of this thread.

Roger,

Yesterday I could view all of the images.

Now I can only see the Fisk knife.

Jim - can you check to see if any images you posted on any forum from your Fototime host in the past few days are still there?

Roger

I think there's a conspiracy.
With only the Fisk photo, the chances are that it will catch up in the voting. ;) :D

Interesting I see all 5 photos.

I voted before reading all the comments so I would not be swayed and everyone of them deserve a vote, outstanding knives everyone of them and congrats guys for making the top 5. My hat is off to Dave and Nick being the 2 JS's in the group.

This was really tough I had to come back to this 5 times before I voted and had to go with Bruce's "Justice Bowie", although to me really 4 of them are fighters. I think next year you should have a Bowie and a fighter division.

I'm only seeing the Fisk knife. If someone will send me the pics, I'll host them on my website, which is not connected with either Fototime or Photobucket.

Roger,

Like Kevin I post photos to forums from Photbucket.

I display my collection on FotoTime via my link.

I'm so pissed with photobucket right now. There are so many threads out there which incorporate photos from my photobucket account, and none of them are showing, instead there's the 'bandwidth exceeded' sign:grumpy:

I was told that after a period of time elapses, my photos will automatically reappear and that it's caused by too many views per certain period of time. I really don't know how it works, haven't read the fine print, as it were.

It will be very sad for me if all those photos I've carefully arranged into 'photo essays' disappear forever. But, hey, maybe it's ok to just wipe the slate clean and start again, just like it was a new year:)

As for the Sfreddo thing, it's interesting to me in that perception is everything and that if a growing number of people perceive a word to describe something as other than what it originally meant, then the future will include the new meaning at the expense of the old. I wouldn't look at that Sfreddo and think that it is a bowie right off the kick, that's for sure. But if more people say that it is one, than those who say it isn't, maybe that's a cue on some sea change currently underway.

I can understand the appeal. But who decides what's a fighter and what's a bowie? If you think "bowie" is hard to define, try defining a fighter. :)
