BladeForums.Com is shutting down! PLEASE READ!

The magazine is available world wide so don't worry about the shipping part of the order form. Unfortunately we can not ship the FREE items overseas or outside the US as it would cost to much. So the FREE gifts are for US residents only. Sorry

I subscribed to the magazine the first day!

Mike,
If the forums is really strapped for cash, I'm more than willing to make a donation (as soon as I start my new job). Too much good work has happened here to endanger its existance.
BTW: my credit bill should show "W.O.W. Jackson" as the bill for the subscription, correct?

Thanks.
Felix

Mike, if this number is correct, 45 out of over 4000? Then these so called "addicts" and "knife-nuts" don't deserve to be here. Maybe they are just all talk. I don't happen to think that's true, there are some wonderful people here. How many posts does this site get in a day? Maybe you should just shut it down for a few days. Let the withdrawl set in. What if the only access to the Forums was through the Magazine. I know this is a hard time of the year, with the Holidays and such, but what are we talking about here, $29,95? The Forums have saved me more than that on knife purchases, and I don't buy as many as some.

I like to kid around a bit, but I know this is no joke. Mike, Spark and all the Moderators should not have to ask for your support. They shouldn't be put in this position. Shouldn't have to ask for support, when they have always been there for us. I admit it, I became a member, not so long ago, to win a free knife. I never won a knife, instead I got a free education, and my favorite place to go on the Internet. For me if it was $30 a month, it would be worth it. That's not what Mike is asking. I don't know where I read this, but it works, "Do it, Do it right, Do it right Now!" Let's all show how much we love this place, and the people who made it what it is, all of you.

PhilL

Well said PhilL. I recently came here because I had just bought a Kershaw Mini-Task lefty and has wondering what else the knife market had to offer.
I've gained so much more than I expected. Not only in knife knowledge, but I've been exposed to a wide variety of people with differing backgrounds and often differing opinions. I love this forum, and should it come to it, I'd pay to keep it going.

Sincerely,
Mitch

Mike,
I have an idea, it's late, I don't know if it's a good idea, or even possilbe. Here goes, remove the "Member, Senior Member's" from under our names. If you're posting here and not supporting the Forums. What are you? A "guest." Yeah, I know that's kind of hard. Not something you want to do, or even think about doing. Not having the Forums, is something I'd rather not think about either.

I'm happy to be one of 45, but disappointed in the small number. That should be at least 400. 400 is only 10% of the total members!

Come on knifenuts, let's see some support for BladeForums!

I haven't been reading the General forum much, or the Emails. Sorry...

Will get my subscription in to support the site.

C'mon folks, especially those with "senior" status! That means you have been using and benefiting from this site -- A LOT. Payback time.

May I make a couple of small suggestion?

1) Make the magazine available in downloadable PDF format, that way people have more of a feeling of "getting something". This overcomes what I consider to be a psychological barrier to e-zines.

2) Set up one of those thermometers like you see for telethons or whatever. You know what I mean. That way people have some idea of what's required in the way of support.

I hope I'm not being simplistic with these suggestions. There may be more to this than meets the eye.

And I have one big suggestion for members: Everytime you go to a forum, click the banner ad. Even if you don't give a hoot about the advertiser, give it a click. That way Mike can charge them more money when they got all those hits. That's what they are paying for, I guess.

Thanks for listening,

D. Epstein - Supporting Member

I know, I know, you don't want suggestions you want subscriptions...

Mike, I subscribed the first day, but didn't see anything at that time about premiums. If it matters, I would love a t-shirt, XL. Thanks!

Mine is in. I am an absolute bladeforums junkie. First thing I read in the morning last thing ,I read at night, check it a few times in between. Besides that I have sold and traded on the knife exchange. 30 bucks would be acceptable just for the forums. A magazine too !!!!

well I don't have any mony now (after holiday shopping because my job doesn't pay worth a crap) but I will get a subscripion and help out any way possible

Now while I don't think for 1 minute Mike would ever let Bladeforums shut down because he is an addict just like us!

I do believe in supporting the things you love and use. I would be in severe depression if this site ever did shut down. I get the willy's when it goes down for a day or two!

For some of you that have never met Mike or Spark I would like to tell you the first time I met them in person. It was at the Blade show last June of this year. I spent some time talking to both of them at there booth and alot of BS'ing with them at the pub later that nite. If I remember right they kicked us out after closing time! Mike had picked up the tab for all of the members that were drinking there for the weekend. Must have cost him a small fortune! For that my hat is off to you and I will forever be a friend and support your site.

I do unfortunately subscribe to most of the knife magazines and barely have time to keep up with the web stuff to make your knife magazine work for me. I will however occasionally purchase things from your store to show my support for you and this site. I just placed my order for the Black SIFU today! I can't wait for the arrival of my next toy!

Thanks again for all of your time and effort in pursueing the love of knives! I am also enclosing a link to the SIFU if there is anyone else that has the same feelings as myself!

I would like to personally thank Mike and Spark for all their hard work, time spent, money spent etc, on this site we all so much enjoy.I love this place and all though I don't post much I visit almost daily and enjoy the wealth of information, discusions etc.I guess I'am in the same boat as some around this time of year money is a little tight.I will try to get a move on the online mag subsricption after the new year and try to do my part to support the sight.Hell I want to join the ATKI too and support our knife rights which we all desperetly need to do,I'll have to make sure I get my butt moving on that too along with getting a maga subscription! In any case another suggestion, how about trying to get more dealers to advertise or charge more for a banner ad.I would assume that this site has given them an avenue for a greater amount of business, they can be losing alot of potential business if this site does go under why not ask them to pitch in a little more? Thanks again for the woderful site.RS(aka)TOMBSTONE

I just subscribed. I have only been a member for a few months, but it seems this is the LEAST I could do. BTW, I'm waiting for a Sifu to come out with a satin blade, black G-10, I know, REKAT doesn't do satin.

A knife is by default a tool, it's only a weapon when a human chooses to make it so.

This site has helped me spend a lot of $ on knives since I discovered it. Keep it open so I can go to the poorhouse (with my knives)- push the button- I did. The price is competitive with the knife magazines, and no criticism intended, the mags are way behind what's going on- Mike isn't. Get with it. (Sermon over).
