BladeForums.com Survival Knife & Kit project

I'm certain Kevin is at work on this, getting the details ironed out. He's 100% in every way, and I'm certain as soon as he does put the plan together, you'll be the first to hear.

Knife addiction is a difficult thing, eh? :D

This could be a way for us to show Bladeforums support for RAT if we chose to. My preliminary thought is that we could add $5 or so to the price as a donation to the company to fight the legal fees of the Ontario happenings. This way there could be a public donation given, with notice to Ontario as a show of support of Bladeforums members.

Just a preliminary thought as I am not sure if the action would have any negative impact on Sparks company- which we do not want I am sure.

Thoughts??

The BFC W&S Kit is not the place for a RAT legal defense discussion. Right now I'm waiting on more information about the kit components before we continue on with it. Past that, let's keep the kit discussion focused.

Guys, as individual members, or even groups of members, we can advocate for who we want, but that's as far as it can go.

Kris,

It was all good intentions, no worries here! We were just letting you know, that's all!

Hey came across this. Is there still room for people? No, I am not a tenderfoot. I helped push Fort Benning and Fort Bragg a couple feet into the earth. If you have ever been there, you know what that means.

Holy $hit!!! how did you manage to only post ONCE A YEAR!!! Are you that mythical creature that is only spotted once on a blue moon?:D;)

I'm still waiting to see how much this will cost too. Suppposed to know some more info this month.

Yeah I am interested in this project too. I haven't heard anything new about it for a while though. Is this project still alive? I'm interested in the RC6 kit depending on the price.

I'm new to this forum, but this sounds like an awesome idea. Count me in for the RC4 based kit (good excuse to get ANOTHER new knife) especially if it can be kept in the $250-$300 range.

Just a thought: If we're looking for a way to 'personalize' these blades such that they are unique to the BF-WSS kit, we could see if RAT would be interested in making a black steel/orange slab model(s).

They are already making a green steel/orange slab RC4 mid-year I think, but have no plans for other color patterns.

Ok, here's an update. The TOPS firestarters & BladeForums.com marked saws came in. The Survival Sheaths are in stock, I've got about 45 each of the following colors: Black, Desert Tan, OD, ACU camo.

RAT cutlery has informed us that there is a price increase in effect for their products so I don't know how that's going to affect things. I will probably, at this time, just offer the sheath, firestarter, saw combo, and offer a limited run BFC W&S marked RAT knife at a later date once those details are worked out.

Any opinions?

That sounds like a great plan to me, Spark.

Let us know how the prices are going to shake down.

Thanks for all your work!
