That's my issue with budget knives in upgraded steels. A great steel in a flawed knife is still a PITA.It always worries me just a little bit when I see 20CV on Kershaws. Not because of any knock on their more expensive knives, but because I’ve owned some of their cheaper offerings that were downright disgusting (in my opinion), and I feel like they can put a good steel with a good HT on a knife without all that much work and effort, whereas upgrading the whole knife requires some doing.
The question becomes; is this a $50 knife with nicer blade steel, or is it $100 knife with appropriate blade steel?
As many knife reviewers will mention, it’s about how much work goes into it, not necessarily the materials: how much effort went into improving the skyline?
I gave one away because it flip was so weak. If they are assisted opening I’ll buy oneI got an original Skyline, in 8Cr...; Won't flip worth a d...
Found lots of other knives I like better.
Maybe they will improve the detent with it coming back out after being discontinued? A lot has changed in the capability of manufacturing quality detents at a reasonable price since the Skyline debutedI gave one away because it flip was so weak. If they are assisted opening I’ll buy one

Oh, that sucks :/ I will probably go for the cheaper, better made USA model then, if I get a Kershaw, and get Jade on a different knife.
154CM or whatever they use on the Leek is fine with me.
I’ve never cut anything with an opening system. Only sharp steel knife blades.I've never seen a skyline that would open without a ton of wrist flick. Get a Leek or Blur (or Dividend if you're okay with a flipper tab only) instead. You won't get 20CV or jade G10, but you will get a knife that opens reliably!
Someone's getting a new knife soon!
So easy to RitdyeThe skyline was a great knife, and what started my “journey” into the knife world. I’m just not a fan of jade g10. Eww.
Ok, buddy. I'd rather have a reliable opening and a "regular" steel, than a "super" steel that's a pain to open.I’ve never cut anything with an opening system. Only sharp steel knife blades.
Civivi style tan micarta + a stonewash or tumbled finish.$100? Maybe if it had a bearing pivot as well as the CPM-20CV. I hate G-10, Jade especially. Give some nice micarta or cf, 20cv, and kvt.
