I know. There is a huge influx of natural G10 in knife scales. It’s so bad.The skyline was a great knife, and what started my “journey” into the knife world. I’m just not a fan of jade g10. Eww.
Wouldn't of bought one if it was made in China. Hope the new ones are American Made.Don't believe Skyline was ever in 8cr. The base model was 14C28N, and it was US-made.
I’d say go for the bareknuckle being USA made and on KVT bearings but sadly it’s been discontinued though you can still find it at some retailers.Oh, that sucks :/ I will probably go for the cheaper, better made USA model then, if I get a Kershaw, and get Jade on a different knife.
154CM or whatever they use on the Leek is fine with me.
I can make the opening better. I can’t improve the steel on the knife.Ok, buddy. I'd rather have a reliable opening and a "regular" steel, than a "super" steel that's a pain to open.
Can you though? One of the problems with non-assisted flippers is, either the detent is strong enough or it isn't. I suppose you could bend the lockbar to try to fix a bad detent, but again, what a pain.I can make the opening better. I can’t improve the steel on the knife.

BladeHQ jade G10 is a great platform for any color you want!I know. There is a huge influx of natural G10 in knife scales. It’s so bad.
Yeah, a crappy knife with a premium steel is still a crappy knife but even more frustrating because of what it could be.Not because of any knock on their more expensive knives, but because I’ve owned some of their cheaper offerings that were downright disgusting (in my opinion), and I feel like they can put a good steel with a good HT on a knife without all that much work and effort, whereas upgrading the whole knife requires some doing.
The question becomes; is this a $50 knife with nicer blade steel, or is it $100 knife with appropriate blade steel?
Detent is not the only thing that affects opening on a flipper. And YES, I can improve the opening. Can you though? I'll stick with a good knife in a steel that I have to sharpen every once in a while, rather than suffer a bad knife just to be a steel snob.
How’s the action out of the box?Much nicer in person. Very well execution of an old model. I may order some more if there are any left.
It's stiff as expected. I'll take it apart at some point and add in some standoffs and smooth out the action. How’s the action out of the box?
They’re still showing as “in stock” at BHQ. Mine is on the way!
