Bad Bladehq smells!

I've noticed BHQ is slower to ship than some other US knife retailers, so I just buy elsewhere whenever possible. I don't necessarily blame them for taking a week to get a knife from Utah to me in CA, but I can get better shipping times from other companies.

I have a close friend who is a popular YouTube reviewer who consistently gets treated the same way and he is also fed up with them. I had 2 experiences both took a long time and the 2nd had to be exchanged because it was defective (not their fault) and the reshipment also took forever. I think they are overwhelmed and understaffed but successful enough not to care. I haven’t bought anything from them since. Too many other vendors that try harder for me to be bothered. If I can’t get what they have I wait until someone sells one on BF.
“So many knives and so little time”

I had good experience buying from bhq but seldom use them lately due to the taxes they charge. Maybe the sales taxes are required by my state? But I wonder why most other dealers do not charge the taxes.

I think the sales tax laws are reciprocal now between nearly every state but I think if you do under a certain $ value in a state you may not be required to collect and file those taxes. Laws change pretty quickly but I think that was the rule last time I checked

I personally would not think that being a week slow to ship should qualify for "bad" on this forum. Product was delivered, inquiry responded to, no bad intention or dishonesty here.
Patience is a virtue not often practiced in our culture, but it is good to have it.
My request to beattheheat is to give them some slack here. I have dealt with BHQ but have no personal interest in this outcome except for seeking fairness.

They are slow to ship but with covid they're probably short staffed or experiencing problems with their shipping distribution as all the major ones are whacky right now.

I've had amazon lose 3 packages in the last 2 months, one arrived 2 months late which I was already refunded.

I had a knife lost in shipping from BHQ 2 years ago and not only did they send me a replacement they shipped it 2 day for free to make it right.

They sure are slow to ship, but I don't think you can blame Covid on this. I ordered from DLT and Urban EDC gear recently, and both shipped the same day with an excellent and responsive customer service.

I have no qualms with BladeHQ, but like Marrenmiller, I prefer to give my money to more considerate companies. Prices are more or less the same for every knives company (in the US at least), so customer service quality is where you can make a long term difference.

To qualify "BAD" for BHQ is MY experience with BHQ and i won't give them another rating.company's like (for instance) nationalknives, dlt, knifeworks and many others ship fast AND secure without excuses!and some people who blame COVID-19 for (USPS) shipping delays have egg on their face,BHQ gave me after a WEEK a notice they forgot to ship my (already paid for !) knife,i don't like that and i refuse to do bussiness with a company like theirs, that's all.

Maybe you’re a BAD buyer? Attitudes like yours might make it hard for you to do business on the Knife Exchange. You come across as unreasonable.

Hackenslash, thanks for your kind words AND "artsy" warhol like graphic,i couldn't do it better!fyi i bought more than 50-60 knives in the exchange without complaints, several times from the same seller,so i must do something right?

I have purchased a couple of knives from BladeHQ. I don't like waiting for thing to ship any more than the next guy, but the time between purchase and shipping has never been more than a week. Amazon has really ruined us in the realm of patience.

I have placed half a dozen to a dozen orders with Bladehq over the last year. I find them frustrating to deal with, they are a little slow to ship, but the real problem is that their communications are terrible. I seldom receive their automated shipping advisory via email and it can take 6 telephone calls or emails before anyone bothers to listen and respond in detail.

A few weeks ago I placed two different orders with them about 10 minutes apart. The second order shipped the next day and arrived 2 days later. Which surprised me and left me more concerned over my other order. The first order was listed as processing for over a week.

I inquired on the first order (providing the order number) to confirm that they would be able to fill it.

The replies to my repeated inquiry included:
- your order has shipped (Referencing the wrong order)
- we are customer service and have no visibility to what is happening in our warehouse
- it looks like your order was shipped off yesterday (yet carrier had no info on shipment for days)

I will add that when their items are delivered they are always factory fresh in excellent condition.

But, there is no denying that their customer service is very poor, to the point where you wonder if they are using a Magic Eight Ball to answer your inquiries. Their fulfillment works, but they have serious customer service issues.

50-60 purchases with only 2 feedback? You might be doing something wrong and not even know it. Certainly not a braggin’ point.

Andy Warhol? Seriously? That’s a fairly well known logo from pop culture.

Enjoy your knives and punctuation.

Hackenslash Hackenslash , while I also think that beattheheat was a little extreme in his appreciation of Bladehq, shouldn't he is still be entitled to voice his opinion, especially when it seems to be shared with other people ?
Don't forget your motto : "Don't feed the Trolls" :p

Try amazon... without prime. Pretty much every order sits a week before being packed.

I didn't think he was overly harsh on BHQ. Some people don't expect to wait over 7 business days after paying for something in stock to be told excuses why it hasn't shipped.
As a buyer the buying part to get feedback is done quick but 90% you don't get feedback until you leave feedback for the seller and tell them about it and ask them to do the same.

As a person who doesn't run a business selling knives i put what i sell in the mailbox the next day, other people even large companies may say they ship within x days, don't. make you follow up because whos got time to apologize or do what they said they would do. more waiting, mild to heavy jerking... now as a buyer your supposed to leave the seller HONEST feedback? or just pretend they were amazing so the seller leaves you good feed back that you already deserve. There's business that can't provide as good as service as some random knife guy on the internet, not exactly praise worthy.
