Blades & Bourbon

Ernie's making whiskey now?
Yeah. And they sell a knife/whiskey combo. The knife handles are made from the barrels used on the batch, and numbered to match the bottle. All limited runs.
It’s the 25th anniversary of the cqc-7 so they have one on preorder right now.

TGIF. Love Makers 46

I'd enjoyed a lot of regular Maker's Mark over the years and then just drifted away from it. It wasn't that I stopped liking it. I just drifted towards other stuff. Trying this French-Oaked variety was a revelation. The flavor or aroma is just a bit brighter in a way that really unlocks it for me.

Same with me. I think a lot of folks start with MM and move on as they try other bourbons.
Once I had the 46 it’s earned a permanent space in my bar

I also really enjoy the Makers Mark Private Selection bottles, where there are various combinations of different staves added for different flavors.

And if I can find the ‘allocated’ bottles in the wood finishing series, I grab those as well.
