Just received 3 bottles of Pinhook Bourbon - Vertical 9 (114.4 Proof); the 6th year of the series with 3 more years to go.

They use to name the series after a horse -- Bourbon War -- but they took the name off of the label this year. 🤷‍♂️

I got 3 bottles because 1 of the 2 that I originally ordered was improperly labeled. See photo. Took a little back & forth to finally get them to agree to send me a replacement bottle for the one that was mislabeled but they finally came to their senses & did that.

Just poured a glass of it & it's very good; best of the series so far IMO. :cool:

Included in the pic is a set of 3 Spyderco Large Thowers which I've discovered that I can't throw worth :poop:.

Until proven otherwise, I'm blaming the knives for my inability to throw them well. LOL!!! ;)

Eagle Rare 10 is my favorite bourbon too.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I buy as many bottles as are available when I see it (which is usually only a few bottles at a time) but I've been able to accumulate over 2 cases of it in the past 5 yrs doing so at various prices.

When I first started buying it (a bottle at a time) around 10 yrs ago, I paid only $25-30 for it.

Since then the most I've had to pay for it was $75 a but I've recently been able purchase it in quantity for $55.

Where are they asking $125 for it? 🤔

I’ll hopefully be in the states within a couple of years for hunting, I’ll have to stock up.

I’m in Australia - the magical land of low wages and high cost of living and goods.

We have the worlds third highest alcohol tax now 🎉🥳🍾

$125 AUD =$82 USD. So, that's still high but not has high as it sounded initially.

Is the tax on alcohol in Australia included in the price or tacked on top. If included, about how much of the $125 would be tax?

In Aus all tax is included on the ticket price.

Alcohol tax on spirits though is a bit over $100 per litre of alcohol.
