Blades n BBQ!

I smoked one for my parents and one for my family. Both were awesome! Used all pecan wood and lump charcoal, and made my own rub as usual.

Pulled pork is my “set it and forget it” BBQ of choice. When I see pork butts on sale for $.99 a pound I buy up 5-6 and sit on em til we want one and throw it in the smoker.

Having more for lunch today but all I have on me is my old Griptilian. Ain’t nobody wanna see that. 😄

That’s exactly how I like it. A pulled pork and cole slaw sammich with a side of tater salad. Doesn’t get any better!

16 hour pulled pork for my mother in laws birthday today. The beans are black bean made with pub mustard, bbq sauce, onions, and all the leavings from the pulled pork. I think despite being a little soupy, they are the best beans I have made.

The knife is a little caper blade blank in cpm154 and white tail antler I made.

Thanks man! It was pretty good, although I may do a mix of oak and cherry next time to give it a little more smoke profile. The cherry gives it a nice light smoke profile, but could be a little stronger.

I'd drink those beans to wash down the pulled pork!

So cool, looks delicious. And I would love to use the knife you made enjoy this fine meal!! You said the knife was from a blank, nice job.

Forgot to post this when I made it Wednesday. Smoked stew meat burnt ends.

Not pictured, some cream cheese blocks I smoked for work Christmas party. If anyone wants a suggestion, Melinda’s pineapple jalapeño jelly goes really well with some smoke cream cheese and crackers.

Love the knife, but how do you cut something with the fork and the knife if they are the same implement? 😁 I know, the BBQ is so tender you don’t need to cut it!!

Are ya using a pellet smoker?

Ain’t that the truth! If ya need a knife to cut pulled pork ya doing something terribly wrong! 😂

I’m on the hunt for a quality brisket knife. Montana Knife Company doesn’t offer one, so now I’m befuddled. We use Shun kitchen knives, but I want my brisket slicer to be more… (oh shoot, I’m getting in dicey territory in this forum) let’s just say old fashioned masculine.

Any good thoughts from you fellas?

John Cahoon makes a nice large slicer, one sold recently, has some smaller ones on the exchange that are cool, more of a steak knife but wild be a good slicer. There actually is a thread here somewhere for bbq knives, may get a few ideas from that too. My gaucho from him would be a good bbq slicer. I included the threads from the exchange, I will post a pic of my gaucho.

Blasted Hills Knives also makes some cool kitchen knives and slicers that would be great for a BBQ knife.
