I keep waiting to see the gator tail and snapping turtles on the smoker.

I’m ashamed to say even I can’t get either. The last time I had fresh fried gator tail it was highly illegal but delicious enough to be worth the risk. And I do love turtle soup but that’s always at a restaurant.

Funny story, I smoked some pulled pork for a party and also smoked half of a watermelon. Well the rhine of the watermelon looked just like a turtle shell after smoking it. So I used the watermelon for a sauce but took the rhine and placed it over the meat and told everyone it was a smoked turtle. They all fell for it. They were even eating it and talking about how surprised they were that smoked turtle was so delicious. I eventually had to tell em and they couldn’t believe it was a watermelon rhine.
