I feel your pain. Out here in winter everything at elevation gets frozen and becomes pretty treacherous until late spring, but I still have to get out now and again just to keep from going crazy. My options are limited however, especially considering many of my favorite destinations are alpine lakes (and I don't own ice skates

I am with you there!! I do most of my hiking during the week to avoid people!!
The wife works during the week so we try to get to less used trails when she goes. Otherwise I don’t do weekends.

I'm exactly the same way here too, right down to the occasional Saturday hikes with the wife. I count myself lucky to have the ability to enjoy these spaces on the weekdays and avoid crowds. I also do similarly out on the water when I'm down in FL. In fact, it was from avoiding beach crowds that I formed this habit long ago.
Same here in northeast Ohio, but that's the perfect hiking weather for me. Fewer people makes hiking much more enjoyable in my opinion.
There's nothing worse than to hear the breeze through the leaves, the running water of a nearby stream, the chirping of birds and playing of squirrels and chipmunks, only to be ruined by the annoying squawking of some oblivious stooge on their cellphone.
The worst is the handful of people I've seen that actually hike around with a Bluetooth speaker blaring on the outside of their pack. I'll never understand why people would come to paradise and bring the hustle and bustle of the city with them. Not to mention their horrible taste in music
