Weather has been crappy here with rain/snow showers turning the trails mucky!!
Gonna try to get out this week a few days??

I feel your pain. Out here in winter everything at elevation gets frozen and becomes pretty treacherous until late spring, but I still have to get out now and again just to keep from going crazy. My options are limited however, especially considering many of my favorite destinations are alpine lakes (and I don't own ice skates ). I make up for it by getting out every day possible in the summer.

I am with you there!! I do most of my hiking during the week to avoid people!!
The wife works during the week so we try to get to less used trails when she goes. Otherwise I don’t do weekends.

I'm exactly the same way here too, right down to the occasional Saturday hikes with the wife. I count myself lucky to have the ability to enjoy these spaces on the weekdays and avoid crowds. I also do similarly out on the water when I'm down in FL. In fact, it was from avoiding beach crowds that I formed this habit long ago.

Same here in northeast Ohio, but that's the perfect hiking weather for me. Fewer people makes hiking much more enjoyable in my opinion.

There's nothing worse than to hear the breeze through the leaves, the running water of a nearby stream, the chirping of birds and playing of squirrels and chipmunks, only to be ruined by the annoying squawking of some oblivious stooge on their cellphone.

The worst is the handful of people I've seen that actually hike around with a Bluetooth speaker blaring on the outside of their pack. I'll never understand why people would come to paradise and bring the hustle and bustle of the city with them. Not to mention their horrible taste in music .

Yes, +100,000 to this. It's bad enough to do this on public transit, but out in nature, it should be a crime.

Today’s 9miler. 1/3 super muddy, 1/3 somewhat muddy, 1/3 ok!! Nice 45deg sunny day on the NCT. Got my hike fix!!

We have had 3 straight days of solid hard rain. My yard is almost ankle deep in water so I am sure the trails are a muddy mess.

Today’s hike in Ohio. Real nice sunny 35deg day. Only a few muddy spots which was surprising but welcome. Just a relaxing 6miler solo hike!!

Hiked Mount Monadnock on Tuesday, it was so snowy and beautiful! Started in the mid 30s at the base, tshirt weather most of the way up lol but the peak felt like 19 degrees with the windchill
Coming back down was slippery though, everything was melting and slushier the further down we got. All of the trails were like little streams too. Perfect day all around though!

me too, at the beginning, I preferred the previous generation: Hidden Canyon Hunter: 15017, until I see the 15017-1, the orange attracted me.
Also wanted to have Altitude Orange, unfortunately, it's been EOL
